Default Coding out the wing warning light for a Getty ducktail spoiler

I'm having a Getty ducktail spoiler installed on my 997.1. Instructions from Getty indicate the wing warning light needs to be coded out using a Pwiz or Durametric. Curious if anyone has done this and if there's a set of steps to follow.

Thanks so much.

Check out YouTube. There is a video on there that goes through the foxwell and it’s coding features on a 997, which includes the spoiler coding.

My Getty duck install is imminent.
I’ll do the wrenching.

If I have to watch a video to learn how to code out the fault , it’s not “simple”.
For me.

Buy the exact device in the video, watch a few VRBO ads…and hope the guy knows what he’s doing.

Absent a RL Post from someone who’s actually done it and can describe the steps…

…I”d prefer to pay an indie- they need the coin these days, anyways.
Tech won’t even get his hands dirty.

Yeah, sounds like you are better off paying someone else to do it. it literally takes 30 seconds, but if you want to pay someone $300 to do it as opposed to buying your own hardware that you will surely use in the future, go ahead

The long and short of the process is to buy the analyzing tool ( Durametric for this example) and down load the operating software on your windows based laptop. Plug in the OBD reader plug into the OBD receptacle in the car located under the dash near the foot rest and fuses. Plug the other end of the reader into you laptop and open up the software and turn the key to acc. The software will try to rear info from your car and ask you a few basic questions, year , model transmission then software will be able to be used for multiple functions. On the left side of the program there are a dozen or so icons to choose from: Engine, instrument cluster, electrical, body etc. as memory serves you click on the body icon and it opens up a number of options including testing things and enabling or disabling functions. Choose the disabled spoiler, hit save and pretty much are done. There are several institution Videos on how to use the Durametric on line and to get an idea of what the program looks like. Cheers

I've completed the programming using a FOXWELL NT530. Here's where the setting for the spoiler is located:

From the main menu choose Porsche > SmartVIN > Programming > Rear Control System > Coding adaptations > Customer-specific settings > Spoiler

Also
of illustrating where to find the setting.

You don't have to do anything. Just leave it plugged in...

I did this once on Durametric. I remember it was not intuitive.

The stock spoiler is removed during installation, but the electrical connection to the stock wing is not disturbed. Once the stock wing is removed, you will see the 2 pistons that move the wing up and down. The pistons sit inside a tube within the Getty spoiler and pistons move up and down as usual. It fools the car into thinking the stock spoiler is still there..

Understatement of the week. I would never recommend a Durametric to anyone at this point.

Lots of assumptions there.
Not a thing you wrote is accurate.
Windows OS simplicity, 30 seconds, job cost, future hardware use…got any stock tips?
