Power seats to manual seats
I found a pair of sport seats from a 2011 Cayman for my 2006 C2S. The only "issue" is those are manual seats while the comfort seats that I currently have are power seats.
Are the connections the same? I don't mind losing some adjustments and memory as I'm the only driver.
Also, I assume it's best to disconnect the battery before performing the swap?
Finally, is it possible to swap the controls from the power seats to the manual ones?

Passenger side should be plug n play, driver's side might have to move a coupe wires but the yellow connector should be there as well. I don't think you can swap the seat controls easily, the seat base is the main difference. You might be able to swap the sport upper (seatback) onto the power seat bottom, since the sport seat recline adjustment is powered. I would try to do that rather than move the power controls to the manual seat base. If you just swap the seats whole you will definitely lose seat memory.

Passenger is plug in play. Drivers side you lose memory but who cares. Drivers side is not plug and play but ‘easy’.
I did it by tapping into the power. I should have a thread somewhere. Basically tap into the wire in the seat and connect to the correct pin. Someone else if I remember did it slightly differently.
I’ll try to find the thread for you but search should bring it up.
fyi, I hated the memory seats with a passion.

If you have full power comfort seats now, installing full power sport seats is plug and play and what I did.

That's what I'm going to do and wait until I find a pair. Were yours from a 997.2 or 997.1? Are they plug and play from .2 to .1 as long as you have the same type (manual vs full power) or I should stick to .1?

I have a .1 and installed .1 seats. Don't know if they are completely plug and play across the generations. All the other sets I've done (3 to date) were the manual versions and went into 928s.

Adaptive are about a grand more these days?
if you don’t need all the adjustments and memory it’s really simple to put manual sports in.
if you are capable of undoing 4 bolts, unplugging wires and lifting s seat out of the car I’m sure you have the skill set to tap into 2 wires.
That said, adaptives would be nice but pricey.

Can’t remember if 991 seats were plug n play or whether the 18 way were pretty much the same as the 997 adaptives.
