Default Type of engine oil

apologies, Did try to search for engine oil in the threads…Live in the Md/VA/dc area and been recently reading threads about engine oil. 0w-40 Mobil one is recommended, however have been hearing that Mobil one lacks some key minerals and other oils such as Molly or DT40 is better for the 997, additionally some are using 5w-40.

I am at a loss been using Mobil one regularly and tempted to switch but not sure what is best for the car.

like to see what people are using and also and additional info would be appreciated

A40. Manual has viscosity range. Where you live I don't think it matters. Let the carnage begin..

Easy If a 997.1 Driven DT40 5w40 and if a 997.2 Driven DI40 0w40

Petza absolutely correct as usual with the only other comment being that a 997.1 may benefit from DI40 on the track due to it's HTHS viscosity:
