I’m looking at a 2009 c4s that had stage 5 and 4 overrevs over 400 hours ago. Walk away or given how long it’s been it should be fine?

Should be fine given the hours. If you go to sell later, it may be more challenging than a car with a clean DME.

Range 6 is what concerns me the most because you don’t know how high it actually went.

Yeah you do, it went to Range 6, which is enough info in itself LOL

Use it as a negotiating tool after you get a good PPI and scope the bores

Agree with everything said. Just remember you will have to be on the other side of negotiations if and when you go to sell GL

My personal experience, when shopping the first car I PPI’d had recent range 4-5 overrevs.

Two months later a better car came around that was a better deal and had a clean everything that I ended up buying.

Cheaper too.

Like homes, there will always be another one down the road that is better… I’d pass.

Probably ok but if resale or trade-in in the future may come up, there will probably be discussions assuming the buyer, be it a private individual or a dealership does a PPI. The service advisor at the dealership in my hometown has told me that Porsche will not CPO a car with any hits above 3 so 4 and 5 can become an issue.
