Default Tesla Truck beats a Porsche 911 while towing a 911

Although I'm not a fan of Tesla automobiles/trucks/whatever, I must recognize that this video makes for one hell of a publicity ad... Sadly, at the expense of Porsche.

They took the most base MT 911 off a dealer lot. Then they made it look like they beat the 911 in the 1/4 mile when, in fact, they hadn't cleared the grandstands yet.

The entire release from Tesla was filled with misleading information. I was excited to see all the wonderful things they had accomplished with a truck that isn't a truck. This is in light of the fact that I really dislike the Cybertruck. But since then, realizing the deceptions set forth here, I've become even more disillusioned on the entire Tesla craze.

also, you are still driving a POS tesla. I DGAF if ANY Tesla can circumnavigate the earth x2 in the time my 911 can do the 1/4 mile, I would still choose a 911.

All true Wayne, but like I said... it makes one hell of a publicity ad. This specially for those folks that are not in our community nor have knowledge of what you've pointed out.

As we are on the subject of trucks for a fleeting moment; the EV world is such a *&^% show right now. I saw a recent announcement by Ford that they are cutting production of their F150 Lightning (EV F150 pickup truck ) by 50% for 2024 due to a "change in market demand". Someone is so fired on this one. Who is having such a hard time reading the room? ( The announcement failed to report that the truck is getting about half the range of what was advertised. Oops ) Apparently they are sitting in numbers on lots everywhere.

Besides being ugly, the amount of mining, cost and replacement of EV batteries are a deal breaker for me.

It may be a Porsche towing a Porsche but can it handle some terrain? 🤣😂

It's a crazy world right now ...

Ford and Rivian report tens of thousands of dollars of loss per vehicle.

Battery capacity isn't keeping up for over extended manufacturing.

Tesla is recalling almost every car they've sold in North America for FSD problems regarding emergency vehicles (rather than pedestrian and general traffic endangerment).

Tesla is fighting with the DMV about nomenclature claiming if it were a problem then the DMV should have confronted it years ago. FSD is CAT 5 and I haven't seen evidence that it has passed CAT 2. And yet people believe this is ready for prime time.

OK, rant over!!!!

Electric vehicles have a place and a purpose. So does honesty in advertising.

How's the classic collector market looking for Tesla ? Are the cars holding value well as they age ?

Doesn't matter, the 911 will get where it's going first as long as that's 200 miles away or more, will look way better doing it, and the driver will have a lot more fun along the way.

The EV thing has already jumped the shark.

Took Panny in today for new windshield, they offered Taycan 4S for loaner. Figured why not. Incredible car; ride, handling, and speed is stunning. But only 200 miles range. No wonder they depreciate significantly.

Wait until that battery is 5 years old, the range has dropped by 30%, and they need to be replaced to the tune of what the whole car is worth, making it essentially disposable.

Doesn't surprise me, because Ford dealers were marking them up like crazy.

A friend of mine just bought a new Rivian R1T a few months ago.

Ordered it online, no pricing games, no F&I shenanigans, no markup.

He ordered it and 3-4 weeks later drove to the delivery center to pick it up.

I am guessing if you could order at sticker and not have to deal with dealer games, they would sell a lot more of them.

His Rivian is pretty dope, we hauled around 5,000 lbs of 5/8 Limestone for a project here at my house, it was like it wasn’t even pulling a load. The air suspension is also super smooth and having no body roll in a smooth riding truck breaks your brain.
