Default Wanted: low mile .2 manual

Dear Santa:

Posted this in the marketplace, but I'm looking for a low mile 2009+ c2/s/gts (low mile = sub 40k) manual, no black cars, only black interior cars, coupe only, no salt driven cars.

Basically a very clean non modded original car with zero history and zero drama, fully documented.

I don't drive too much, so selling Macan, wife will get my Taycan, and I'll "daily" the 997 (my favorite of the modern cars.... just feels right size). Make it silver so it can be a non RS twin of my 997RS.

I'm in SoCal and prefer a local car. Will pay market.

Thanks

There seems to be less and less 997.2 on the market since Covid. I'm sure you've already checked the usual areas; PCA Market, Holt, Marshall Goldman, Merritt, Ryan Friedman etc

Want something a bit less raw than the 3RS?

I had one, a base .2 manual, stripper car, but just good, around 2010, i sold it when i bought my rs in 2011 or so. I’ve owned a 991, a gt4, 981 Spyder, driven the 992s a fair bit, maybe some other newer cars i can’t recall… and well… i think i top out at 997, they’re just good cars, and right size. And modern enough, comfy enough, small enough, usable space, etc.

The RS is not a car that’s easy to daily, it’s stupid low, loud, obnoxious when cold and just prefers to be beat on to be happy. And it’s a ton of fun to beat on.

Yeah I’ve been looking at all the usual suspects, i know they are out there… they made a lot but seems they are mostly parked in peoples garages.

Anyway appreciate any leads.

Too uncomfortable to drive as a daily. Especially if you have any kind of traffic around you. I just got a new s4 like 2 weeks ago for a daily. It really is the opposite power curve. The porsche is great for weekends but all the powers up top. It doesn't really come alive and balance out until ur at 4k rpm or higher. The s4 is the opposite its all low end torque and I know this will sound unporscheish but for a daily, im going automatic sport sedan. It'll take a little bit to find one, but you don't seem to have sticker shock. You'll find a nice one, i would go to a meet and just make an offer on someones clean one.

I think one could very easily daily drive a 997.2 depending on location/climate. With a very simple Eibach Pro-Kit my 997.2 base very livable.

Only time I wouldn’t daily a 997 is if parking was a headache (as in street parking or garage parking in a downtown urban area). Otherwise, I don’t really see why you wouldn’t drive it as a daily.

I drive my 997.1 daily. The only time I don't take it is if weater is going to be really bad or it will get parked someplace I don't think it will be safe.

I daily my .2S 6sp 3x/week, but my commute is only 17miles. It's perfectly suitable for commuting, even with SPASM and Cup2s, because there's no snow here and I have safe parking. Agree with OP that GT3s feel overkill on the daily (which is probably why you don't see many out in public M-F). Good luck with your search.

Good luck with your search.
I own a low miles 997.2 S, silver, black all leather interior, loaded, stick and recently noted in a price report in Excellence Magazine - they reported a 24% price increase in the last year for one in excellent condition going for $75,000., as I remember.
I just tried to find the issue and it got tossed. Anyway, be prepaired to spend some $.
