997 GTS to GT3 Front Bumper Question
I will be converting the front bumper on my GTS to either a GT3/Cup front bumper.
Do I need to change the front radiator and ducting etc?
Reason I am wondering is because the GTS already has the Aerokit front bumper.

I believe you'll need to do some modification for mounting points for the cup bumper. It's been a while but at some point I read about someone who did it and it was not completely plug and play

Get a spredsheet ready.
Look up the PET for the GTS
Look up the corresponding parts in the PET for the GT3.
Compare the different parts.
Compare the price difference.
Curl up into a ball.

from what i remember for the smile vent to be functional there is additional ducting to lead it down as opposed to the aerokit front which is direct bolt - but you don’t have to do that. Double check the PET as others have stated.

As other's have stated, the GT3 bumper conversion is not for the faint of heart. The ducting for the GT3 is unique in order to vent properly and requires additional parts. Do a search on RL and you will find a couple threads of members who have done this, including the mods required to mount the parts for the radiator ducting. The delta in looks between a GT3 and GTS front bumper is minimal: upper vent and bigger front lip. Unless you really want the upper vent, remove the strakes on the side front intakes and invest your time/money into figuring out how to mount the GT3 lip. There's more ROI in the rear GT3 bumper conversion and it makes a bigger difference due to the center-exhaust and overall aesthetics. If you decide to do the front GT3 bumper then you need to do the rear conversion too, IMO.
The GTS bumper looks pretty sweet if you add the Speedster lip. The stock GTS lip is pretty basic. I added the 3rd radiator on my GTS and cut the panel underneath the car to vent the heat down rather than up like a GT3 so it is still functional. There are actually cut-outs in the panel for this purpose. Check out my build thread (link in signature) for details. Either way good luck and keep us posted.

The "smile" vent is air for the 3rd or middle radiator. There is a duct that feeds the air. Check out this thread.
