Original or aftermarket wheels ?
Hello everyone,
I know that it is a matter of pure preference regarding what kind of wheels to have on the 997s.
I have been contemplating installing some new aftermarket 19's on my Carrera base but I have been hesitant since I am trying to keep the car all stock as it is right now since 07.
Thoughts?
Thanks and best!!!

My take is that you can always go back, so take the plunge.
It's a fun way to change the look of your car.

I just picked up a set of these in narrowbody for my .1:

Waiting for a minor refinish before mounting. I think it's the best of the 997 wheels. I don't think they offered them as an option on the .1 but I know they did on .2.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. I bought some beautiful Forged wheels which I loved and had on the car for a bit. But after awhile I decided I wanted a more OEM look.
My forged wheels are for sale. https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1383511
Here is my car with both wheels as a comparison.

Who cares what anyone thinks, build the car to suit you. Lots of options out there.
I've always liked a BBS LM or CH style wheel. That's why I chose BBS and Champion wheels.

The only OEM 997 wheels I like are the GT3 ones. You're much better off finding a perfect condition used, forged wheel than using any of the OEM options. The fitments are better, the wheels are stronger & lighter, and you can make the car look however you want.
Of my 9 vehicles, only my wife's 997 has OEM wheels and their the GT3 ones because that's the look she liked. Every other vehicle has an aftermarket wheel.
