Bilstein B16 drop links
Hey everyone! I noticed recently that the upper boots on my swap bar drop links are torn, so I ordered a replacement Lemforder set. I learned the hard way that the Bilstein B16 links are different. Looks like I have the updated (kinked) links, but they still need replacement. I've searched and searched, and most people just get adjustable Rennline or Tarrett links.
I would prefer to get the Bilstein ones, as I don't need any adjustability there and I don't have plans to track the car. Anyone know the part number for the B16 drop links?

If you have adjustable coilovers then you really need adjustable drop links to make the bar geometry correct (flat ends parallel to the ground) and eliminate any sway bar preload.

My indy told me adjustable drop links are only required if you lower the car by a certain amount. Does that make sense?

To some degree, yes. The only time the stock drop links would work is if your car is at the exact same hight as the stock suspension for which they were designed. Otherwise, the angle of the bar has to change to accommodate longer fixed length links on a lowered car and it can also preload the sway bar - does it make a huge difference if the bar is angled a bit, probably not, but if preloaded, yes it does, and if the suspension is lowered quite a lot and the links are way too long, they can actually get bent.

I'm just looking to replace the Bilstein drop links that came with the kit. Not trying to spend $300 for links I don't need. The links I have are stamped "Bilstein 3098" but searching that doesn't lead to any correct parts.
I found an old thread in the 996 forum that lists part number B4XB1Z051A00 but the links shows on the ECS page don't look correct, the ends are facing opposite direction whereas my links are faced only 90 degrees apart.

You could ask FVD Brombacher. They helped me get some B16 parts last year.
