20" RS Spyder Wheels on a 997
Anyone running the 20" version of the RS Spyder Wheels on a 997, thoughts? I am considering this, but curious if anyone else has tried the fitment. I have always liked the way these wheels looked, and I see used sets come up here and there as 991 owners swap them out.
Not trying to debate 19 vs 20 wheels and the increased chance of bending a wheel due to pot holes.

I have a version of these wheels (as 21's) on my Cayenne.
May not be an issue for you, but I can tell you firsthand that they are a pain to clean and keep clean.
Where each of those spokes intersects with the rim - specifically the inside corners - collect brake dust, dirt, and assorted grunge.
If you are thorough with regular cleaning (and if you have the wheels ceramic coated) then, not as big of a problem.
I agree - good looking wheels, but...

What are the widths and offsets of the wheels you're considering and what year and model is your car.
Oh, and 20s are too big

Yes they will fit.
OEM Specs for those wheels (double check this):
8.5Jx20 ET49 (No spacers needed)
11.5Jx20 ET76 (15mm Spacer Needed)
(You will need 245/30/20 Tires (Front) and 305/25/20 Tires (REAR) )
Those were my favorite wheels on my 991.2.

I also like them, I went with the HR 20" which I thought would be horrible, due to the streets and roads in NJ, but fast forward a decade and It is fine, My 997 is my DD - I thought my older C4S (996) drove harder with 19" turbo wheels -
20" HR wheels and HR Sport Springs, Lowered

I have a 2009 C2,
This is the math I come up with, I found a set with tires installed, and I dont think they will work, would need to replace the tires with 245/30 R20 Front & 305/25 R20 Rear
Can run the fronts without a spacer.
Would need to keep the current spacer with the RS Spyders

Ok so you have the exact offsets, perfect, I am running the same sizes with those tires I suggested. 12/15mm spacers will work in rear. I have a rear offset with the BBS wheels of 65mm with a 12mm Spacer.
Effectively Front 49mm and Rear 53mm. Wheels are flush to fenders. The ride is surprisingly pretty good.

As others have said, you can't run 245/35/20. They will hit the strut spring perch. If you want to stick to 35 sidewalls you'll need 235/35/20.
Personally, don't like the look of 30F/25R sidewalls..
I've run 20s on 2 997s so far. Both with 235/35/20 and 305/30/20
20x8.5/11
20x9/11.5

@Graufuchs I believe I have the same wheels and need new tires. Currently running 235/30-20 in the front. Is your car lowered and do you have any issues with rubbing with the 245/30-20 in the front?
