PCCM+ experience

PCCM+ experience
So, I have Dension Gateway 500s BT installed in my 997.1 and it works most of the time. Sometimes not at all. Randomly. Alway forgets that I'm using BT and not AUX. You get the picture.
I don't want to put in a ~ $200 Ali Express head unit. PCCM+ would be my only other choice.
For the ones of you who have the PCCM+ installed:
What's your verdict after a few weeks/months? Any issues?

For me it is worth every penny. Having CarPlay along with a stock looking unit is what I had been wanting. If you ever sell your car, I'm guessing you would get back 60-75% of your money if you sold it separately.

I found the unit laggy but otherwise functions as intended. The lag part is annoying though. Even the steering wheel volume control takes a split second to recognize on the unit. As such, if you scroll the adjustment wheel too quickly, it will not recognize the changes correctly.
Sound quality is surprisingly good. If you have Bose, it sounds actually much better than the Bose system in the 991.2 that I driven before.
is it worth the money Porsche charges? Hell no. But this is the only option we got if you want something that looks OEM.

My Dension works great. If you have a USB installed into the port, remove that and it should remember the BT connection all the time when you press the CD button. One wlpress will go to the CD player and a 2nd press to the Dension for the BT connection if that's the one you used previously vs the CD select option.

Same feelings here. OEM Android Auto with the proper Porsche branding and color match. I know I paid a premium just for the name, but I did when I bought the car so . . .

While not perfect, the PCCM+ units are nicely designed to maintain the factory look of your car. The biggest advantage of the PCCM+ is integration with the factory connections and system components. Heck, modern radios from Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, and Kenwood historically outperform any factory system, but they won't maintain the car's look and feel, especially if you buy one of those flashy units that look like it was designed for karaoke night at the local Disco night club.

I've had one for about a year in my Cayman. It's definitely subject to the Porsche tax, but that being said, I am still glad I got it. It looks great in the car, and Carplay works well. The main two issues I've had with it are the antenna connector that has to be swapped on single antenna cars and that my screen failed(became greyish). The second issue was easily fixed, and the second was fixed under warranty. The only issue there was that I had to pay the dealer 1 hour labor($230) to glance at it and say it was bad before they'd warranty it.
