Default What Would You Choose???

If your choice was between a loaded 997 (PASM, 6 Speed, 19") or a stripped 997s with Tiptronic, which would you rather drive??

I would absolutely take the 997 with 6 Speed as the performance is better.

Post your choice please.

Don't compare a tiptronics with a 6 speed, please.

I wouldn't choose either one I'd hold out for an "S" 6 speed optioned the way I wanted it or optioned with what I could afford. Once you compromise you'll always be asking what if.

I'd take the base 997 6-speed even if it didn't have PASM and 19s [in fact, that's what I did]. My C5 Corvette has the active/adaptive suspension system - and while it is cool, it's not an option I would pay extra for again.

For a track car, I would get the 997S in a heartbeat [but a 6-speed]. 19s are cool looking - and great for a prepared surface, but I've bent a rim before, so I really don't mind the extra inch of rubber vs. metal.

Personally, neither. We have a base 997 Tiptronic, and I don't like the transmission. And I don't like the idea of PASM, so I'd either seek out a base 997 without it or a 997S with a manual.

Loaded means 997 what? All the same stuff on a stock 997S but minus the HP?

Or do you mean loaded, stock 997s stuff, plus full leather, Sport chrono, heated seats, mirrors, adaptive seats?

I think I would give up the 30 extra HP if the car was loaded and I could have it now and it was the right colors.

Hard question, unless..., an S with a Tip probably equals a non-s with a manual HP-wise.

The tiptronic basically "equalizes" the HP of both cars. An automatic sucks up HP, right?

I would take a base 997 with the carbon brake package as the only option, over any 997S with tiptronic. (Just my tupence worth).

I have a 997S with floor mats and it is just fine on the track and on the street. Who are you trying to satisfy with your question? Hold off till you can get what you really want.
