Selling 997....sad to say........
Time to say goodbye......I love the car but cannot use it as a daily driver....3 kids and room for nothing make it not practical for me...
I already had the 3 car route and was a big pain switching between the 2.....
I have found that for racing and DE's etc...I would rather have an RS America or something older that i dont have to worry about getting thrashed etc...and cheaper tires on and on....
I love the 997 but am ready to move on....Any interest Pm me and I will put it in the classified section over the weekend....

H& R's - Blk- Blk - Sport Chrono- 19' Classics.....

Hard to argue with, although I sold the GT3 to get a more usable daily driver (997S). It works for me as a daily, but can understand how it wouldn't for many. Additionally, getting a dedicated track car is w/o question the right thing to do. I grew tired of having a compromised street car for track use, and putting really expensive machinery at risk on track. I went the BMW route for a track car, only b/c I'm a huge E36 fan. Best of luck; I think you'll be happier with a good daily car and a track car that you can drive with reckless abandon.

it's hard to beat the arrive and drive concept of thrshing someone elses car. no deprciation, no worries about repairs/maintence, trailering, set-up, etc and it'l smoke anything you could possible come up with based on a street car: www.radicalwest.com

If that doesn't work, then maybe considering doing a 2 for 1 trade for a Cayenne Turbo.
Sorry to see you go, but good luck. It is the wife and kids that have kept me from getting a Porsche for many years (and a Ferrari 360 Spider during the dotcom boom) .

"Go for it. In 10 years you'll enjoy riding the 997 more than the wife."
And in 10 years the car will hold up under hard use better than the wife! <j/k>
You're making a ton of sense, I would never be able to enjoy a new car on the track. I'd be worried about every rock chip. I'd reccomend a used m5 for hauling kids around while still having a little fun on the street.

RSS997, I loved all you commentary. I'll miss you on the board. I have to say now that I've packed up my car for the winter, I can't tell you the number of times it has crossed my mind "is it worth it?" The only thing that keeps me going is that it's been a childhood dream that I just can't give up. Good luck with the sale. Hope you get good value.
