Default Azurro California available in the future?

Anyone heard if this nice shade of blue will be available in the future? Light blue has always been one of my favorite colours and I'm not looking to pay a premium for someone's used club coupe.

Thanks
Aaron

I'm sure it's currently available as a Paint-to-Sample option.

If I were a Club Coupe owner (and I'm not), I would be more than disappointed if Porsche allowed someone to special order Azurro, or if it became a color option in the future. It certainly would take away from the CC's exclusivity.

I seriously doubt that PAG will ever release Azurro.

I know of one person who wanted to have a Turbo painted to sample in Violet Chromaflair which was the special edition color of the 2000 Millennium Coupe...and was turned down by PAG.

Anything is possible with PAG these days. Just look at GT silver... It was supposed to be exclusive to the Carrera GT till they released it on the 550 Boxster (986) and 40th Anniversary 911 (996).

Azurro California should be kept off-limits, even though I'd love to have it as an option. I'd do a new one in Polar Silver in a heartbeat if it didn't delay the build by months & weren't $4.3K premium.

Ben, use binoculars says search ****--j/k...violet chromaflair is blackish purple/eggplant they used on '00 millenium 996. Nice color but personally never liked these polished wheels that automatically came with the car. Wow, this savannah beige is heavy on the mustard color.

Porsche always reserves certain colors (like Porsche family colors) and others. In time I suspect you could get the Azurro California. Of course, I'm sure you've read (that I posted earlier) that Porsche will no longer paint to sample any non-metallic colors that are light. (I had tried to order Gulf Blue and was turned down,--they claim a 'process' problem).

I would be surprised if Azurro California is offered on Porsche's standard color palatte anytime soon. That would be inviting serious grief from the 50 PCA members who bought the car in good faith as a "special edition" color. I would however imagine that a color to sample car could be special ordered at the usual price premium and with the usual manufacturing delays.

Azurro California has been a standard Ferrari color for many years. In fact, I saw a 550 Maranello for sale in that color just last week. It looks equally beautiful on both the Carrera and the Ferrari, but its more reliable on the Porsche.

Porsche would not even give Suncoast the paint code so I could have my front lip repaired!!! They tried for 2 weeks and Porsche would not give the formula.
They had to have it computer matched. I took a few tries. It is close but not quite there. It is not noticble because the lower lip is kind of tucked under. I don't know what we Club Coupe guys will do if we ever need a bumper or fender repainted.

I suspect that eventually the color will be available for repaints/bodywork on the club coupes, but it may take awhile. I had a Millennium Coupe which was keyed in June 2000. The body shop had to give Porsche the car's VIN and they sent just enough Violette-Chromaflair paint for the repair, and it took about 2 weeks to get. I know Eric from bumperplugs.com is trying to get Azurro California and hasn't had any luck yet. He had the same issue early on with Violette-Chromaflair too.

As for whether the color will be offerred again, I hope not (for selfish reasons) but suspect it will be. I hope they charge dearly for it, however. It's way too gorgeous to have on large numbers of 997's.
