That HORRIBLE scraping noise!
I know everyone hear has heard it and FELT it...that anus-puckering noise and feeling when your P-car gets too close to the asphalt. We all know it happens no matter how slow or how much of an angle you take.
Yesterday I finally had one of the two plastic pieces that snaps in front of front wheels get torn off.
Is this covered by the dealer? It would NOT surprise me if is wasn't.
I would assume that this will not be the first time these things get torn off, do any of you bother replacing them every time?
Thanks.

I'm thinking that this is one of the reasons why Porsche didn't make available the -20mm suspension option for North America. Road conditions.

I heard that noise the other day as a Carrera GT negotiated a speed bump at less than 5 mph. This scrape came from behind the front tires. Ouch.

Nothing worse than going over a speed bump and feeling the tranny hit on the rebound...(non Porsche of course...cause we all know where the tranny sits on these babies..)

Looks like I'm off to meet with the board to have them lower these bumps so I can clear them. After all, I HAVE to have access to my condo like it or not! This should be an interesting debate to say the least.
This is why the dealer is shipping the car to our property to make sure it clears. If I can clear the one close to my garage and the exit at one area, at least I'm half-way there!

I considered getting my car lowered for track use, but I did think about the consequence of that
on a street car. Best bet is to have a track-only car and expect to be trailering it only to the track,
and the issue will not come up.

This happened a few weeks ago in my e46M3 and the damn plastic piece (likely) cracked from a speed bump at slow speed. Later that day at 120mph the cracked piece popped out due to wind/air pressure and made a horrible flapping noise. And it took 3 weeks to get fixed!

I scrape the center rubber "deflector" going in and out of my own driveway (a diagonal track isn't possible, unfortunately). So, I go very slowly to minimize the s-c-r-a-p-e. However, this morning I noticed the deflector was actually hanging by just a couple of connections. I pulled it completely off, but heard a very small scraping noise again upon leaving the driveway. The rubber deflectors just in front of the front wheels are apparently touching, too. Can't imagine how bad it would be with the car lowered. Aero kit? Forget it.
How critical to the car's performance do you think that center rubber deflector actually is? I put it back on, but I'm thinking maybe...?
