Default 0-60 times?

whast the true 0-60 time for a 997 s cab?

ive read anywhere from 3.7 to 4.7

do you think you can get an accurate time with the chrono? might be tough to hit the lever at exact time you let off the clutch or the exact time you reach 60

The first part of your question was discussed in this thread...

I don't have the wart on my dash, so I don't know about the second question.

When your talking about a difference between 4.5 and 5.0, it's a half second. But most tend to really make a big deal between a car running 4.3 and 3.8...but you'll be hard pressed to get the wart to be that accurate. Especially since you are the one behind it's control. ;-)

Don't put too much faith in 0-60 times.. As you have noticed, there are a lot of differences in published times. Porsche's own times tend to be conservative, while many magazine times are, well, optimistic. You have to rev the engine to redline and then abuse the clutch to get a really good time, something almost none of us would do to our own cars. I think you have to base your buying decision on other things, like how the car feels to you in normal driving situations. I have also read in Car and Driver Magazine that it takes a very experienced driver to feel even a 0.3 second difference in 0-60 times. I think it would be almost impossible to get an accurate time by yourself with the sport chrono. I do know that the C2S cab is a very quick car, but probably not the very quickest you can get. Anyway, just my opinion.

2 things, (1) The P-Car is NOT built for 0-60 times even though is it quite fast, and (2) There is NO WAY IN HELL the 997SCAB will do a 3.7 time without SERIOUS modification. Christ, the CGT is rated at 3.9!
