What are they saying, while they are staring at you...? Can you hear what they're thinking...?

I agree. I never drive in the neighborhood with my Boxster top down. Feels too exposed. Feel more protected in my 997S.

I dont like profile compromise of the rooflines either, Check this out:

The angle of your shots is actually somewhat deceiving. The roof line on the Porsche cab is probably the best to-date and the best in the industry. Mine looks quite nice with the roof up.

There will always be two camps here. It is simply personal preference. Not sure why you are asking our opinions...make the decision on your own!

Too perfect. IMO, when "the average car guy" thinks of a 911 they think overwhelmingly of a coupe, not a cab.

The cab looks differently from the coupe because the ragtop frame and mechanisms won't allow it to conform to the classic sleek 911 teardrop profile. That's compromising looks in my book.

Look at the back windows, and the extra hump. This is all with the top UP.

When the top is down, the look is different again. Still a compromise of the classic 911 aesthetic.

look at the radically different back windows and the extra hump necessary to hide the framework and mechanism. Nothing deceiving about the photos, IMO.

i think it's funny the way some people think about being exposed in cabs.
i can't say i ever even think about other people looking at me when the top is down.
they would have to be pretty close to get a good look and even then most likely they are looking at the car and not the ugly mug of the driver!
unless you got a supermodel in the passenger seat!

MMD, your point may or may not be valid but your two photos should be the same angle and position to be "fair" me thinks. They are not, as they currently are.

To me there isn't a much better looking car on the road than a C4s Cabriolet. As they say, to each their own.

I think the newer 911s look better as a coupe. The lines are perfect. But I love cabs so the ideal choice would be to get the 997 coupe and get a cheaper Porsche cab, maybe a boxster or 968.

My next P-car will be a 968 cab, so sexy!

But thats just my 2ct
