Cab vs Coupe..I must decide, NOW!!!!
With very good buying opportunities available for both a 997s coupe and a 997s cab, I need to decide which way go with in a day a two....I was orginally going to get a coupe because I love the lines on the coupe and its 10k cheaper with better body rigidity.....but, with spring here, i also love the open air and the cab is also a looker, although with different lines..so then i was going with the cab , with the wind in the hair, engine roar behind you and the sun on the face experience.....Today, i went to a different dealership than the one i usually go to for a back to back test drive one last time to cement my decision....the roads around this dealership are somewhat rough and crappy...anyway, the S cab i drove today seems to have slightly softer suspension settings, noticably more body flex on big bumps and very slight play in the steering wheel vs the coupe.....my last back to back drive, i felt very little difference btw the coupe the cab...for you owners that have driven both and now own a coupe or cab, what has been your experience with you 997 cab or coupe and any regrets not getting the other form of the car????

If you want to get the performance of a real sports car and the handling get the coupe. If you want something very fun and has the ability to have the wind in your hair, and don't mind the less rigid frame go with a cab. For me I want my Porsche to be my performance car and would not likely ever get one in a cab. If I want a cab I will get a BMW 330ic as a second car or something. I want performance more than anything out of my 911, but that is just me. I certainly love the 911 cab too. Tough choice. Just figure out what you want out of the car and go with it. Either way we need pics of whatever you get. Good luck.

The rigidity of the cab is almost identical to the coupe. Past couple of days the weather has been nice enough to put the top down on the way home from the office...and my wife keeps asking me why I'm smiling so much when I get home!! Cab!!!

For my own sick silly reasons there was never a doubt, Cab
Porsches have "big glass" relative to their size. The trend lately is for the Dick Tracey look, M-B CLS, Chrysler 300 style with gun-port windows. I feel claustrophobic in cars like that very quickly and know for me that would never do. The Porsche Coupe is very nice, for a Coupe.
My commute and rides are on good roads, not hard chop so the difference in feel, while I'm sure is there at 9/10's and above is irrelevant to me.
Summer's really commin', Summer's on its way...

This is going to be a fruitless thread because you can find 100 reasons to choose the cab over the coupe, and you can find a 100 reasons to choose the coupe over the cab. This is a decision only you can make, based on your very personal preferences, perceptions, attitudes, affections, and monetary constraints. I had a coupe on order, but bought a cab after test-driving it. It was a gut decision. Both are Porsche cars, and either one is better than everything else out there.
