Hi All...
Just saw this over on Rennteam and thought I'd share the good fortune. It's a clip featuring the 997 GT3,...a beautiful White one (just like the Porsche site) - eine Deutsch for those of you who sprechen sie.
I've got some new vids and am working on reformatting the coochas 911 video page,...but for now, here's the link:

What I find funny about these videos is the editing. They make it look like the footage is continuous chronologically. Those camera shots from the side of the car that show the front wheel turning as the car winds its way around the curves are obviously taken from a camera hanging out the side, but you never see the car with the cameras strapped to it. They obviously take at least two runs to produce the clip, if not more. One with cameras on the outside and one without, and then they splice it in the editing room and come up with the final footage. The same thing was done with the black CGT clip that Icon shared with us. The really bad clips are the ones that show the same shots repeatedly as though the viewers can't tell the difference!

Hmmmmmmmmmm,

Not here to second guess someone else's driving and I've never driven that road obviously. But it seems like the driving style was to accentuate slides, not to find the quickest line. All the oversteer with compensating opp turn.Looks like fun though.

What say the rest of you?

(ok, I'm obviously joking!) That's a great video and some very talented driving. I didn't know Sebastian Loeb was shooting commercials for Porsche.

That was cool Coochas--thanks. What a car. Methinks the driver has some hair to do all that sliding on a narrow mountain twisty in a $100,000+ car with who-knows-what on the other side of the guardrail. But it actually looks like a lot of fun--in someone else's car.

I was carefully watching the stick shift, it sure looked like he was shifting between 1st, 2nd, maybe 3rd and that's it. In fact after several turns, it looked like he shifted from 1st to 2nd after coming out of a hairpin turn. Notice the revs reach about 8400 rpm or more. Maybe that's how you drive on a road like that but it sure seemed he was in first a lot.

Check out the shift at the 1:09 mark in the video, that appears to be a 1st to 2nd shift out of that tight turn. At about 1:14 he hits about 9,000 rpm.

Not for me, still trying to master shifting and double-clutching. So he's shifting from 2nd to first while moving at a decent clip? I thought a 2nd to first shift while moving would be rejected by the transmission. I am a bit new with P-cars and with stick shift cars, so that video looks like magic to me.
