The configurator shows both the sports wheel and the silver dials; the specs say three spoke steering wheel (not sport) and black dials. Anyone out there with a recent S who can confirm?

The first pic here shows white dials, the second "aluminum look", the standard on the S.

LOL, OC Ben: that first pic looks like my color combo Carrera White w/Coco. I was just thinking that the color matched center consol would be easier to maintain as mine scratches so easily...anyone know if I need a new one or can I have a body shop paint the one I have?
About the difference between the 997 and 997S:
For me it's about the experience, I am much less technical. I did a 'inside/outside' test.
This is my first new 911 so driving both cars was exciting for me, I favored the 997S but could
not readily decide until the 'outside' test.
I had my salesperson put both cars side by side, start the 997, have him lightly rev it as you stand around the car, had him drive the car away from me and up to me. Did the same with the 997S.
May seem silly, but after hearing and seeing both cars from the outside I knew which car was my new experience. I had to have the S.

So are you saying you have white dials and a center console painted exterior color, white in this case?

For about 10K you get what Carrera1 just said, and since many people will want those options anyways, the actual price difference ends up being less than 5K. The other thought is that the X-51 package is for the 'S' model, and I do not think there is an upgrade package for the base model. So in the future if you wanted another 'factory' 30Hp you could retrofit the S but not the base. 5K for a bigger displacement engine, 30Hp more and more torque is a 'bargain' as Porsche charges a premium for HP.

Can someone direct me how to copy a quote on my message? The apparent skill level required exceeds my patience right now.
OC Ben: I meant that I have Carrera White w/ only Coca leather interior. My center piece (that is under the e-brake) is a matching coca brown color that picks up every little scratch.
I have thought that if mine was painted to match the outside of the car (like the pic) it would be a little more 'rugged'.
Also, I'm pretty sure I have standard dials that happen to look white like the exterior.
