Difference Between 997 and 997S?
What is the primary difference between the 997 and 997S besides the additional 30 Horse Power?

Are the rear wheel arches on the 997S wider than the standard 997 as they have been on previous models.

If you go to the PCNA website they show what is standard and optional on the two cars.

What they said, plus PASM, bi-xenon, and aluminum-colored instrument dials. Same body, although it sits 10 mm lower on the S.

Then select the "blueboxed link" called compare models. Pick the 997 and "add" when the window for it opens up then do the same for the 997S and then select compare.

Also, you can read the order guides that Loren has posted over on Renntech.org
Not sure if you have to be a member to view the order guides but here is the link:

What about suspension: Sway bars, Strut valving, Spring Rate? Wider Tires? Bigger Brakes? Gear Ratio? Syncros?

Gear ratios are the same. The S has wider rear tires (and 19" vs 18" standard wheels). The brakes are bigger on the S. PASM is standard on the S, optional on the base.

Instrument faces in S are aluminum look while standard is black. Trim in S is also aluminum look while it is darker in standard car.

Actually, sport steering wheel is listed as an option in my 997S build.
