A dust cover would help since often when I put it away clean it is dusty by the next time I drive it.

Six months for me, John - finished the 3rd garage bay in August, 2005 - picked up the car in February 2006.

So, the car cost $44,000 more than I expected. <g> Don't care, wouldn't trade it for anything.

And yes, it's in the garage at home, and in the garage at work.

With 19' F outside now, plus salt, ice, and snow all over the roads, this is what my car looks like until April

I found a lot that has just enough slope to have a 3 car garage at main floor level and you can drive around the side to the lower level with a 9' wide garage door and another 3 car space underneath! Plans are just about done, can't wait to get started. Mrs Deacon gets her art studio and I get 6 cars worth of space. Pics to follow as the house gets built.

Why???....... is it that the moment one drops the concept of building a 2+ plus car garage the Missus' instant reply is that NOW she can finally have her studio. Just happened to me. "All right......., but you have never expressed that long-held wish to me before,.......you don't even paint."

That last remark did not do the business, by the way.........

All I am trying is to do the right thing (as in 2009 Panamera) long term.

Default outside

My C4S sits outside in all weather, I drive it regardless of what it is doing outside weatherwise, and I wash it every couple weeks. I have had 4 other 911 garage queens in my past, avoiding rain, polishing as much as driving them, etc. I decided this one is truly going to be a daily driver. I must say it has been liberating!

I garage all my cars. You see, I was under the impression that garages were for cars, not home storage like my neighbors think.

We have a 3 car garage = double + single. The single is very tight, so my, and now my son's, little Mercedes (he's a 17 yr old nerd, president of the chess club, 4.6 GPA, so I gave him my 2001 C240 with H&R cup kit, Brabus wheels, Bi-xenon, carbon fiber hood and spoilers and other toys, so he has a cool car) lives there, and the double, because of the built-in storage, is really 1.5 spaces, which until the Porsche, housed my wife's CRV (my daily beater CRV is parked outside at the curb). Part of our 25th anniversary presents to ourselves (had a good business year), besides our backyard and her jewelry, was my getting the Porsche!!! Her personal present to me was giving up her parking spot so the Porsche could be in the garage, and my consideration back was she could park in the driveway just in front of the garage, and I would move her car out and back when I take the Porsche out....

In addition to the many reasons to keep an expensive car inside, my favorite is letting the heat radiate off the engines to help warm the rooms over the garage. With one or 2 cars parked overnight, the temperature in the garage is 40-44F, outside it has been 5-15F And nicer to get into in the am. My garage is plumbed for heat, by i may not bother
