Porsche's having a hard time in the US! The US dealers really have to be feeling that 10% drop in sales:

Wiedeking also announced record sales and turnover in the 2006-07 financial year. It sold 97,515 vehicles - and a record 37,415 of them were 911s, making it the most popular model ahead of the Cayenne. It wasn't all good news though; US sales dipped ten percent.

What does it mean for us buyers? Next month will be a good time to buy now that the Fed just dropped rates another .5%.

given what is happening with the dollar versus the euro, I'm amazed porsche can hold the line on prices.

In Coral Gables, they were offering $8k off sticker on an untitled C4s and I know ten would have been easy. I opted for a gently used model with 600 miles for 15k under sticker.

Sorry for adding to an already long thread, but just checking in to see if anyone has any latest info on the '07 discount. I'm looking to upgrade to a new '07 997S Coupe, but the Houston dealers I've contacted don't seem very motivated to move their remaining stock. Before I venture out of state, I'd like to know whether anyone else has recently purchased an '07 and how much discount they've received. Boxsterdoc47, have you made your purchase yet?

Hope to move to the 997 board soon!

The data is two months old, but in early August two of us got Targa 4's for about 8.5% to 9% off list. The 2008's are a little higher, but the nav module (which almost everyone gets now) comes with the extended nav module, which almost makes up the difference. Net result: 2008s are about the same as 2007s in prices. So one should get an even better deal on a 2007.

A related interesting question is whether Porsche may raise prices in response to the dollar's decline. Sure, they have currency futures to offset any loss, but more Euro goods products are adjusting their US prices accordingly. So if the idea that Euro goods will go up in price gets accepted by Americans, then Porsche may follow suit.

I just bought a new 2007 Carrera S yesterday. I started at Rusnak in Wesltake Village, CA. They wouldn't budge over the phone, Santa Barbara Porsche and Walters in Riverside both dropped $10K off the car on the first call. I ended up with a $97,750 MSRP car for $87,500. Plus, Walters gave me $3K more than anyone else for my wifes SL 500. The way I look at it, it was a $13K discount ($84,750).

2008's are a little stickier. I tried.

I'm loving the info in this thread, so thanks to all for sharing. I am a former 996 owner who is increasing the momentum of my search for a 997. Unfortunately my closest dealer is Rusnak in Pasadena. They are a nightmare. Very arrogant about pricing and their service is a nightmare. I had some warranty service performed on my previous 996 and they scratched the bumper but refused to do anything about it. Please keep sharing discount information!

I was at Bev Hills Porsche the other day and was informed they are having a slow time. I was offered 06 cayman s models at invoice upon just asking what they are going for. They have a few 997's in various guises on the lot, just none that captured my interest with the options i want.

They did have an 07 997's' in black with an aerokit, red belts and almost 8k worth of carbon fibre parts on the interior though no sports chrono which ruined it for me. I was asked to make a reasonable offer if i was interested but at 102k it is more than what i am looking to spend! I have no doubt they would let it go for 90 (still too much for my budget)!

I'm searching for an 05 / 06 997's' in white with a black, cocao or blue interior (basically no tan or grey) and having a really tough time finding one on the West Coast.

To anyone else searching for a 997 my advice would be to wait until the end of December and go visit dealers, they will be more than willing to deal prior to the new year (meet monthly or even yearly targets) and upcoming winter (tough time to sell a sports car).

Josh.

I made a deal yesterday for a well equiped built to order 08 C2 and recieved a 7 % discount.

I was on the line waiting to hear more about the facelift 09's and there earlier release date.
But I was told of increased prices, smaller discounts, and coming from BMW I'm bit skidish about new
first model year released technology, ala DFI and Dual Clutch.

You probably won't have much luck with the Houston dealers. My wife wants a Cayenne and I am pretty resigned to going out of town or buying a slightly used one to avoid the Sonic owned dealers.

I would gladly take that deal as well. Sounds like you did well, Craig. The '07 C2S currently on the dealer's lot stickers for $92K, so I'd be happy with a $10K discount. I guess I'll play the waiting game for a while to see what happens.

Thanks for sharing your info, everyone, and please keep it coming!

There are still several new 2007 C2's and C2S's on dealer lots in SoCal. Newport Beach, Santa Barbara, and The Auto Gallery (Woodland Hills) will all knock off $10K.

The Auto Gallery has a beautiful GT Silver/Cocoa Brown full leather Tip, loaded with Nav, Bose, etc, that they will cut a great deal on. It would make a SWEET daily driver

Default Looking for 997 C2S - head spinning - WTB

Hi everyone,

Sold my 996 C2 a while back and am looking for a 997 C2S to replace it. I would really appreciate advice, leads on cars, info, words of encouragement etc.

Here is my sitaution-
I live in Dallas, Tx
I would like a low (15k miles or less) C2S
05-06-(07 new?)

Stick not Tip
Silver with Black
White with Black
Maybe if the mood strikes Black on Black

Only option I am interested in is really Sports Chrono (no PCM)

I have been finding nice 06's in the high $60-low$70 range
I have been finding nice-decent 05's in the Mid to low $60's

I have read here that dealers may be offering decent discounts on remaining 07 inventory. If the 8-13% range posted here (may be more or less) holds then a $84k'ish new 07 may be found for mid to lower $70 range.

If you see or know of any deals like this please, with utmost sincerity, let me know. That would make way more sense than a 1 year older car that someone else drove. I know I could get more brutal with offers on 06's but I am looking for options.

If you know of or have a nice car please let me know. PM or e-mail to thenewfredsanford@yahoo.com. If you are a lurker daler do not be affraid to jump in or private. My local dealers are grat but just do not have what I am looking for right now.

Thanks a ton everyone I really thank you for any assistance...
