Makes me ask myself the question - "How would the ole' Club Coupe look with YELLOW calipers since I was too cheap (or smart) to purchase the Ceramic Disc's vice the standard "S" brakes...

John - the Yellow calipers would look great against the Azurro California!

Heejin -

Those look great--especially with the nice clean interior walls of your wheels.

Really appreicate for the compliment

I was gonna use P21S, but couldn't find it around seattle area so I had to use a sponge to clean the wheel hurting my knees

Oh well, it was well worth since I was able to hear nice compliment

Cheers,
Heejin

Little update on this project.

After installing the cayman red caliper on my 997, I have painted the 997 black caliper in red using caliper spray paint and sold on the ebay for $911.

The total cost for this project was was around $39($950 - $911 = $39) + installation($300) I understand that using the caliper paint kit is much cheaper, but I think this turned out much better than I initially expected.

For those who wants to have OEM red caliper, I think this is something you could consider. If you can do brake bleeding by yourself, I would say the cost would be about the same as caliper paint kit.

Just my 2 cents.

How much better are the Cayman S calipers than the stock Carrera black calipers?

Black calipers look best, IMHO. Too bad they indicate "cheaper" brakes (joking).

Kinda irritates me that Porsche paints them to get this one-upsmanship going among owners.

When you think about it calipers are friggin' ugly functional tumors distracting from your gorgeous wheels.

I don't get it: Why change out side markers to colorless and yet _add_ a major chunk of color with calipers?

Nice work! Especially like the fact that your old "911" calipers sold for "$911."

I used the Dupli-Color High Performance Caliper Spray with Ceramic. After the paint got dry, I put the porsche decal which I got from the ebay and put on the clear coat. And then, I dried it for 8 days as the instruction recommended. It turned out great.

The buyer is quite happy with the caliper according to his e-mail and feedback on the ebay.

I guess I still don't get it,--painted calipers. What's the point? Porsche USED to claim that that "Form follows function." What's the function of color on a brake caliper? They should all be black so that no one has to spend more time cleaning off a brake caliper as part of a car washing.
