Default Red Caliper on 997C2 :)

Today, I finally installed red caliper on my 997C2.

I got the red calipers taken from Cayman S which are exact same spec as the one on 997C2. Here are the part numbers I used.

996.351.426.11 Right front
996.352.422.13 Right rear
996.351.425.11 Left front
996.352.421.13 Left rear

It fits perfectly on my black 997C2 and adds little accent of colors to it.

Cheers,
Heejin

Very cool! What was the cost, minus labour if you don't mind sharing?

Oh well... It wasn't cheap as you could imagine.

I bought those calipers from one of dismantler on the ebay for $950. It will cost around $1400 if you get the brand new parts from the dealership.

Anyway, I am planning to sell my old caliper on the ebay so I could recoup the cost a little

Did you consider just painting the calipers? I recall a thread on this forum that said total cost was something like $50 (including the paint and "Porsche" lettering stencils)?

Yes, I thought about it, but I didn't feel comfortable me painting it. It looked like it's gonna cost me around $250 ~ $300 if I have it painted from local bodyshop, or $800 for polymer coating. That's why I decided to go with Cayman S caliper which is around the same cost or even cheaper considering the fact that I could sell the old caliper on the ebay.

Cheers,
Heejin

I like your solution and looks great!

Actual "S" brakes on your C2 - I am sure the Porsche painted parts are better (at least give better piece of mind) then if you tried to paint them and then suck as sticker or decal on the yourself.

Congrats again - how about a few more pictures?

Yes, it definitely needs some detailing

I am buying P21S so I can clean those wheels. I will take more photos once I am done with detailing

Are your wheels the standard C2 wheels? I wasn't sure if the standard wheels would clear the larger brakes.

I do have 19" Carrera Classic Wheels, but I don't think it really matters since these are Cayman S Calipers which are the same size as 997C2 Calipers. Please, note that they are smaller than 997C2S Calipers.

I got these from Los Angeles Dismantler.(Ask for Richard) I think you could also get decent price from dC Automotive.

I also painted mine, no problems again around $30 and followed gota911s instructions.
