British Speeding Record
Check this out, some idiot got clocked doing 172mph on a two lane road near Oxford in the UK. (It's not a highway, so there would be side roads and potentially pedestrians.)
It's the highest recorded speeding conviction ever in Britain (as per the BBC World News)...and you guessed it, he was driving a 911. He got 10 weeks in the slammer!!! What a complete tosser...gives us responsible Porsche drives a bad name.

The dude is a delivery driver... who worked for a luxury car hire company -- i.e.; he "borrowed" the car from his company. LOL.

Nordschleife Master
Some context for what it's worth.
But while Brady set a record for a speeding conviction in a U.K. car, BBC News reports that there have been faster British drivers -- they just haven't been caught.
One unknown motorcyclist posted footage of himself on the Web cutting through traffic on a wet Yorkshire road hitting 176 mph.
And in the States, Brady would have been left in the dust by a prototype Koenigsegg CCR driven in the 2003 Gumball Rally, which was pulled off the road in Texas after supposedly going 242 mph (in a 75-mph zone).

"Cutting through traffic on a wet road" on two wheels at 176mph.......filming yourself in the process. Steals a little thunder from the others imo.

One of the articles I read about this mentioned that someone who had actually killed 2 passengers with his car got no jail time, meanwhile this guy got 10 weeks in jail. Clearly they have their priorities straight!
