humbug

I have a C4S cab with smartop and went to work last Friday. To my surprise, with the car sitting in a public garage, the top opened up on its own and was left opened all day. Luckily nothing was stolen (had my radar detector just hanging there). I can see my car from the my office but was too busy to notice until late afternoon. I thought what idiot would leave the top down and finally realize it was my car. When I left the car it was all sealed up in the morning. My key fob does reach the car from my office, so maybe while in my pocket it triggered the smartop? Has anyone heard of this before? Sort of freaking me out that I could be in a building and my car decides to "air out" on its own and just imagine if it was raining or something.

It would be a real nightmare with the unpredictable weather we have here in
South Florida just to imagine if my top would decide to go down on it's own!!

Anybody else have this happen to them??

Not exactly, but I have had the rear and/or front trunks open up on my boxster. What I figured out is that in my jeans pocket, as I'm sitting down or getting up, etc., the key will get pressed.

Now when I park in public, I'll walk a while with the key in my hand and then put it in my pocket. No incidents like that afterwards.
