new tires poll (i know, i know - "sigh")
i have an '06 997S, MAYbe a few autocrosses per season, but basically a daily driver (altho never in rain/snow), about 7k miles/yr.
i need new tires - pirelli P-zero rosso (on there now) or michelin PS2's? PLEASE dont tempt/confuse me with other suggestions! i have narrowed down to these 2 by considering reviews, pricing, availabilty, etc. i am happy with the pirelli's but are the michelin's any better/do they hold up longer? i'm looking for great handing AND longevity.
ok...let the voting begin...

cheap tires that kill for the money (actually, they're very good against anything, surprisingly) are Kumho's. an old hot-rodding buddy of mine with a major pr0n fetish loves their name, but they're quiet and durable and perform well... and cost a fraction of the "high-end" names out there.
globalization is great, when you think about it.
i like good years on my sl500, but i know lots of people who prefer ps2's over all others.

I know you said not to confuse you (sorry in advance) but save yourself $600 and get the Bridgestones. I've had all three and think the Bridgestones are just about as good as the Michelins and better than the Pirellis and Contis.

PS2's are great tires, I went through two sets, but I just put Bridgestones on 2-3 weeks ago and so far I'm very happy (and $600 richer).

Each tire manufacturer report their own numbers on the treadwear. A Bridgestone tire with 140 treadwear rating doesn't mean it's tread life is the same as a Michelin tire with the same rating.

Bridgestones were on the '08 C2 that I drove around for 3 months while waiting for my C$S. They were initially very quiet, but got much louder after about 2,000 miles. My C$S has PS2's, which is what I also had on my '06 C2, and I much prefer the PS2's, in terms of perceived stickiness and ride sound and, yes, comfort. And their wear rate is pretty good for such a high-performance tire, too.
