Local dealer in Austin doesn't even have "loaners" per se, just a crappy little Enterprise rental desk in an adjacent building and they cough up the bulk of the rental costs. Last time out (20K service) I got a Jetta. While I wouldn't really consider the Jetta to be a suitable loaner, the worst of it is having to go through the whole rental annoyance -- declining the ten different kinds of supplemental insurance and all the silly fuel level games that rental companies play. It's a real blemish on what has otherwise been a great ownership experience for me.

It's the only time I miss my BMW. I'd be curious what Houston dealerships offer reasonable loaners. I'll just start getting my service done there when I'm in town.

Boxsters or Caymans, provided I make a reservation in advance. Pretty sweet.

Hi ds2k1,

I am also in the Bay Area. May I ask which dealer and service adviser you use?

Regards,
- Alex.

Chevy TrailBlazer
Nissan Sentra
Dodge Caliber
or what else is there at the Enterprise at the dealership. It really makes me appreciate my 997 more when I get it back.

My friend did get C-class loaner at another dealership.

I've had a Cayenne once, a Cayman once and a Camry twice. I don't really care what car I get.

My dealer ( Princeton Porsche in N.J. ) offers several free choices whenever the car needs service

1. Loaner car. Usually a Cayenne, but with a few days notice , a Boxter or Cayman
2. Flatbed pick up and return delivery from my house
3. Valet driver service to office or home

The coolest loaner I've ever received by far was a manual-trans Cayman S with H&R springs and Champion wheels. Too bad that only happened once

sometimes i get a Cayman, sometimes a Cayman S and sometimes a VW Jetta. I once got a Pontiac grand Prix back when I had my 996 in for service. that GP was horrid. It was also bigger than our BMW X5 SUV. I swear. It barely fit in my garage.

Always a Hyundai Sonata because the Porsche dealer has a Hyundai dealer on the other side of town. It's not a bad car, actually, for a low $20k car.
