Thanks ... very interested in this product!

The mic is not already there. It will come with the BTA 1500.

Re Phone compatibility, the phone list is only what they have tested. My Samsung SHG940, works great with "Voice Dial",
which is all I cared about! Right Eric?

Thanks Larry....yes, many phones are under testing now. Even BB was not listed in the initial list, but paired fine in beta testing recently.

Many phones are working with the system. Just those we know from initial testing are listed, but many still work with it.

Mic comes with the BTA unit and is routed to the dome lamp area or to the factory steering column location if desired.

Eric,

How well might this work in a cab? I'm wondering if the added noise from the open cockpit would make it hard for the mic to pick up the voice. (I wasn't too sure either how effectively the original phone option would have worked in the cab for that reason.)

I'm sure it would be noisier in the cab, any hands free would be.....but much would depend on volume of phone/system, location of mic, etc. Or do what I do when I put the top down: turn the phone off.

Eric ... what is estimated shipping time? I have meetings in Stamford CT on Monday / Tuesday next week. do you think it can get there in time for me to pick it up, rather than shipping it across the border?

How long is the mike wire/would it reach from the front trunk (where my GW 500 is mounted)?

That's what I'm counting on.

Mine arrives tomorrow.

The mic does not plug into the GW500 unit. It plugs into the BTA1500 unit.

FWIW, My GW500 unit is mounted in the trunk, the BTA1500 is mounted behind the center console, and the mic is mounted inside the steering column in the stock location for the mic, and thus is invisible.

Did you do that yourself or pay--any tips for a DIY'er like me would be mucho appreciated. Also, where is the stock location--I used to know that, but I have slept since then or am getting forgetful in my middle age.

Bust away.

We're working from Dension's pricing model sent with the unit release....if they will give us a break, we would price it accordingly. As the primary US supplier for Dension, we also handle all tech support directly with Dension, don't know what that's worth. As soon as we clear with Dension on pricing model we will make any changes accordingly.

Don't know a thing about others who are selling them (either at a loss or some other number).

GW500 has a new list price of $549, we sell it every day for $465 (right now, could go up soon due to dollar fall overseas and Dension's price hike last week).

Shop it all you want. We're here to help either way. And most folks here know that we are major supporters of Rennlist and related events, and that if they find a deal or want a deal, they just email me politely, and often get quite a nice surprise.

So Eric what are my options IF any for bluetooth in the vehicle then?

Also I was part of the group buy initial for the ipod Gateway500; and I have noticed since installing the latest software/firmware flash I no longer get it to charge my ipod touch thru the cable, why so?
