Anyone hear anything more about the dealership? The building has been in the same paused state since early Spring.

I've been wondering the same thing. I expect to take delivery within days on the 08 C2S that I ordered from Tischer Porsche in Silver Spring back in April. I live in Davidsonville so Annapolis would be a lot closer for me. I asked the people at Tischer about Annapolis Porsche and they said that they didn't know anything about when it was supposed to open.

Someone told me that you need to have a minimum NET worth of $25M for an investment group to be considered as a dealership candidate.

This is going to be a pretty big hit for some folks if this doesn't open. Or, maybe Porsche will sell the franchise as the shop appears near ready to go. Bummer..

This is what I have read.............

Johnson Porsche of Annapolis is to open this Saturday. Their phone is 443.837.2600. Mr. Johnson is president of Johnson Auto Center based out of Raleigh, NC. The dealer is located at 20 Hudson Street near the Harley-Davidson dealer.

Hopefully, this is true.

You're not dealing with Jay, are you? What a tool he is . . . and absolutely no personality. He came very close to wasting my roundtrip from Atlanta to MD. He reluctantly came clean about 5 or 6 "hardly noticeable" blemishes on the "new" car I was considering right before I booked my flight. I should have known something was up when they balked about putting in writing that the car was in new, factory condition.

Interesting - it's looked dead quiet nearly every weekend when we zip to the beach. I'll need to exit this weekend and investigate.

Yes the Porsche logo sign is now on the building as last week some time and cars outside as I drove by on 50.
Someone on this forum mentioned that there is a series of inspections and goals that must be met before your parts, signs, cars... are shipped. Like the factory approving your employee list or at least the key people.
Engineering types everything takes forever. They did have 6 months of zoning issues. Turns out half the property is in Annapolis City and half is in the county. Utility hook up was a nightmare.

Stopped by late Saturday. Still closed with no sign of parts or cars. plastic is on the furniture.

Porsche Patter, the newsletter for the Chesapeake Region of the PCA, has an article in it about "Johnson Porsche of Annapolis" stating Saturday 8/9/2008 as opening day.

Johnson Porsche is also, supposedly, sponsoring the Chesapeake Challenge 39 at the end of September.

I guess we'll see...

They are open. I stopped by Monday eve. No cars at that time but since then they have car(s) in the window. The Service manager is Rick Brewer who I worked with for years at Mercedes Benz. Great guy. Rick was saying they had their first service client Monday. Who will buy the first car?
