Three speeding tickets in two months....Sheesh
Man, I feel as though I am getting "profiled" in this car...granted, I don't drive like a granny on the roads, but man o man, if there are a pack of us speeding, I seem to be the one that gets tagged. This morning, coming to work down a local commute street, got "hit" with laser going 58 in a 45. There are definitely two to three other cars on either side of me, yet I am the one that gets the ticket. Oh well, luckily, I have been referred to a great ticket fixer attorney here in FL that supposedly can help with these issues.
On that note, is anyone aware of an effective "Laser Jammer?" I have a good radar detector, but like all others, by the time I heard the shrill of the machine today, I had already been tagged. If something does exist, please provide some feedback if you have one and have found it useful. While I am not a reckless driver by any means, like all p[car owners, I find it hard to drive under 45....
Thanks in advance for the help.

I've used the Blinder and the Escort Shifter. Althought these appear to be pretty much the same, I prefer the esthetics and internal controls of the Blinder. The Blinder also had higher marks than most competitive products in some comparison tests I've stumbled across somewhere on the net (probably all BS, but you take what you can get).
I've been reluctant to install one in the 997, the front end of the car doesn't seem to lend it's self well to much of a stealth mount. But others here have done so. The turbos have better mounting opportunities than other cars. I've also been reluctant to mount the internal controls for the laser unit in the cabin.
I suppose a guy could just install the jammers and forget about the on/off switch and audible warnings in the cabin. That's probably the route I would take.
Otherwise, I just rely on the Valentine and live with radar only protection. Laser detectors are useless - by the time it goes off; bang you're already dead.

I have the Laser Interceptor and I'm very happy with it. The cops are fierce with laser here in Oregon and it has already paid for itself in about 3 months. It is a bit expensive but worth the premium IMO.

I have the Blinder installed but with a cheetah wireless system that negates the need to have wires from the laser diffuser into the cabin. Have that and an escort 9500i and v happy with the results. i know for a fact the blinder has saved me once.

I'm going to suggest something that you don't want to hear.
BEHAVIOR.
You're really going to have to consider revising your behavior if you don't want 6 tickets in 12 months. Simply putting a laser jammer or a RF detector in your car isn't enough. You have to know where it's prudent to open it up and where it isn't. The trick to speeding is you can't do it all the time. Chose your places intelligently. Otherwise, you're going to have a very bad year.
A good friend of mine who just couldn't adapt ultimately did lose his license for about a year. I think he got his business partner to drive his 928 for that year to keep it charged up.
He ultimately resorted to simply racing at the track and got rid of all street cars that were fast.

I know Dan you are 100% right, and solid (as always) advice. However, easier said than done as most of us know. Maybe I can have a governor installed on the car... Seriously, hard to avoid the tickets for "53 in a 45", or "63 in a 50", etc., as unfortunately, I do think our cars create unwarranted attention from ye police. I am great at avoiding the 85's in the 70 zones, but around town, this car simply wants to run...
Anyway, very solid advice, and I have no choice but to take to heart. I'll tell you, however, had a 2005 M3 for three years and nary one ticket....12 months with the porsche and 3 tickets./....go figure.
And Pat, for the record, you know you are right....!

1) Assume that everyone in any late model American sedan is a cop, at least until you get a look at the driver. This is especially true for Crown Vics. The only people who drive Crown Vics are cops and very old people. Around here at least, there are also a lot of state troopers in unmarked American SUVs, but I have never seen one in any foreign car or any luxury car.
2) If you plan on making a very high speed run on a public road, do it first at the speed limit to look for speed traps. This has saved my driver's license.
3) Watch the terrain and don't go fast if you can't see what's ahead. The MD state police often set up speed traps in spots that have limited sight distance due to the terrain, so you can't see them until it's too late.
4) Go fast in the rain. I have never seen a radar trap when it's raining.
5) Stay out of the left lane as much as possible!

It's revenue enhancement time all over. This weekend I saw CHP and other police depts everywhere - clear speed traps, where safety was a non-issue. Pure car tax.

Nathan has great advice, too. (I always avoid the left lane,--it makes you look like you're speeding even if you're not).
The best tool I ever BOUGHT for successful speeding was contact lenses (20-20) and later, LASIK.
