Default The spill-free Starbucks run

Sunday morning, Wifey requested me to make the run for morning coffee. I don't mind - don't need an excuse to take the cab out on a beautiful sunny day.

I finally found a solution to bumps in the road and "spirited driving" spilling the coffees.

Happened to have 2 pony-tail holders and 2 micro-fiber cloths around, and with those super-duper 997 cup holders - achieved success!

NOBODY is allowed to eat or drink anything in my car other than water. It's fast enough that we can stop and eat/drink at our leisure. And why go out for coffee when you can make your own espresso at home?

All you need is one of these: http://www.unicahome.com/p96/alessi/...by-alessi.html

Yeah but then he loses an excuse to drive his car!!

...

As for coffee, we have a nice Pavoni. I've used it practically every morning since 2002. It's a ritual!

That is ridiculous!. You're more likely to have a spill because you didn't put the cover up letting the holders flap back and forth.

Besides, if you're at Starbucks just get one of the coffee stirrers. The little green stirrers fit in the drink hole and keep it from spilling. I break off the long stirrer and just plug the end into the hole. Haven’t spilled a drop since using them.

FYI.. Starbuck is now providing a Spout stick to plug up the opening of the lid. A little green plug stick that prevent spillage. LOL!!!! I thought I was the only one that have this problem.. spilling/dripping over the shifter...Look for it, it's free...

Looks like you have Cocoa interior, would it really matter that much if it spilled?

Worst thing about this car is the cupholder setup. My M5 has no cupholders at all, and that is an improvement over these.

I could not agree with you more. On both counts.

I got a catch-all for you. Get the espresso machine, but hide it in the garage. Go drive the wheels off your (very nice!) cab for awhile, and then come back and make the coffee in the garage while you're "fiddling with the car."

Or get one with a timer so it'll start itself a bit before you get back. That way there's no spillage in the car, you get to drive, and you get delicious coffee!

Oh and just an intro as I haven't posted over on this board before, I'm from Durham. Hi! My dad is tired of me having all the Pcar fun so he's looking at picking up an '05 with low miles and some nice options -Bose sound system, heated seats, nav. Not what I would want option-wise, but I looked at it and it's a nice car.

If he gets it I will post pictures, of course!

You've made your soulful sports car into a soulless beverage fetcher. I also agree with Le Chef on both counts.

Aside from that, clever improvisation. When it comes down to it, you gotta drink what you gotta drink I guess and it's good to be able to think of solutions on the fly.
