Pugnacious

Nicholas D. Kristof writes in the New York Times of the genius of Governor Paterson’s 18% tax on non-diet soft drinks. He titles his article “This tax may produce a miracle”.

You see in his liberal mind the populace is so ****ing stupid that they need government to tax (and thus regulate) their consumption of sugary sodas. Besides generating $400 million a year in badly needed taxes just think of all the lives it will save and the reduction in obesity and diabetes will lower health care costs. What genius! Thank you government for saving us from our own stupidity!

Nice times we are living... the government rules our lives. What political block tried that in the 1st half of the 20th century across the pond with miserable results? Human memory is quite short. It's now the time of the land of the free to be shackled. Sad indeed.
