Not a dumb question. If you do it yourself or go to an independent, keep records, receipts etc.
If things geet ugly, you may need to prove that the service was done.

When it comes to good-will, dealers generally look at the service record as part of their evaluation.

I 'LOVED' the Spreadsheet Maintenance Record provided by 'Maintenance Mike'. I do the [almost] exact same thing/format for all of my maintenance for a 2012 997.2 Turbo S, and previously for a 996 I owned - in an Excel file. I print out a copy after each update & place it inside of the OEM Maintenance/Owners Book.

And, I thought I was the only one who could be this detailed! Love this forum. Porsche Owners have always possessed a propensity towards 'Excellence', like no other car owner. Thanks for all of the positive exchanges which occur.

As much as I think I know, I learn - or confirm - something each time I visit.
