Default resetting Moonroof for "one click close"

read this thread:

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...t-process.html

performed the reset 5x now... i click open.. it stops like 2" short like always.. i open the rest and then hold.. it closes/tilts/closes/opens/closes and then stops... after the above it one click opens to the intermediate point still but does not one click close from that point or the further back point..

anyone know what i can do to one click close? is there a different reset process?

thank you,

-riley

Is it supposed to one-click close? Mine never has - off to check the manual. That would really be nice though, but I don't have my hopes up....

I do not think the 09 cars will one click close as prior years have allowed. I've read this in many threads and sure enough my 06 1-click closed but my 09 does not.

So only 997.1 one click closes?

No - seems like some 09 cars do and some don't. Mine does, hence the original post.

Gotta say it was nice to be able to contribute something after being pretty much a forum consumer since I joined. Just hope I haven't created a problem that no-one thought existed!

i saw your post and thats why i would like to know if possible and how.. i figured the reset would solve it but i still dont have it.. i was thinking maybe has to do with me having porsche installed XM which has antenna on roof.. but i dont think that makes a difference..

maybe someone will know how to reset/trick system to force a one click shut.. just a pain holding that button down while pulling up driveway, while clicking one button for my gate and another button for my garage...

Tried the reset today. Opens a little more via the one touch, but still doesn't close via one touch. I'll ask my dealer to research it and see if there's a setting you can change.

thanx..

i found out why one touch open only goes so far tonight, if you open it all the way and still have side windows up.. it creates a dreaded "low hum wind noise" so kudos to porsche for noticing this and creating a solution "the intermediate one click open position"

Do you think it depends possibly on where the car is sold? Some sort of "safety" anti-lawyer feature for the US? For example, did your car have the gaudy air bag warnings plastered on the visors? Seems I have read the "euro" visors don't have that.

I just checked the Manual and it explicitly states "One Touch" operation for opening and lifting the roof - to close or lower, the process is press and hold.

I also noticed on the other post where someone mentioned their roof only slid back 75% - that, as I read it, is also a feature: the roof slides back to the best position for noise; to fully open it, press the button again (don't recall if that is one touch or not - don't feel like going back to the garage again to check ).

At any rate, I don't think anything is wrong with my car - it just doesn't work the way I wish it did for closing the roof. I wonder if there's a way to replace a switch or relay with a Euro part to get One Touch close?

Could be a market thing I guess Steve. My manual says under Closing: "touch front of rocker switch B. Sliding/lifting roof closes to final position".

But if the .1 cars did in the US, and other cars still do, then it doesn't makes sense to me why your .2 cars don't.

Thankfully we don't get big stickers on the back of our visors.

i was also thinking like stevepow, as it would be a finger catching problem to one click close w/o sensors.. im guessing thats why pass window sucks at going up too.. no onw click close until its half way up already.

I may not be understanding this issue, but my .2:
Press quickly and release in either direction: it will close or open fully as required
Press but keep finger on the button, it will close or open as long as the button is pressed.

Hi Bijan - this thread started because some people in the US complained that their's didn't close as per yours and mine. Seems that there is a difference between the two markets with this. Stranger things happen!
