Default Where to park in Hoboken for view of mid town Manhattan? - REPORT back posted

The plan is to pick up my 997 in Boston and drive her to NC on I95 Wednesday. I'd like to get a shot of the car with a Manhattan backdrop without driving over to Brooklyn.
I'm thinking somewhere in Hoboken, would be best, any idea's people?

Thanks and if this deal works out I'll post a picture of a unique car.

There is a better view from Queens,--with the UN in the background. Follow the link,--location is on the map.

Goto jersey city, much easier. Google map 30 Hudson St, Jersey City, NJ... There is a "circle" there where you can park and take some pictures

Hmm, Queens to far from I95 Dan. I'll give 30 Hudson St in Jersey City a shot.
Hey rcg412, what color blue is that 356?

There is a parking lot right off of the PATH in Hoboken. Great view of NYC.

Do a search on Google Maps - Hoboken PATH

I believe theres a good basckground view from the grounds of the Liberty Science Center...in the Jersey City general vicinity, and the exit is directly from I95. It's been awhile since I've been up there, but I recall the grounds are nice, as was the view.

Actually, Hoboken and Jersey City will give you more of a backdrop of lower Manhattan. If you want a backdrop of Midtown Manhattan, then I'd suggest somewhere a bit more north like Port Imperial in Weehawken, NJ. I live right near there. Easy to find, just google the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal, and there's plenty of spots along River Road there where you can get nice shots.

Here are some that I took of my car...

Also, you can get a cool shot in Times Square if you want...

I agree. Park down near the restaraunt. If you are feeling brave climb the stairs up the cliff (or drive up). Great views from the top. This is our favourite NYC view. The ferry ride is worth the experience too.

Mark.

The Chart House restaurant will give you nice views if you eat there, but if he's just looking for a place to park the car to take photos, that is not an ideal spot because there's nowhere to park there except the restaurant parking lot, which has lines painted there to separate the parking spots, as well as people always parking there. It is also a little bit too far south across midtown. Trust me- Port Imperial in Weehawken is his best shot for a Midtown Manhattan backdrop. There's also a great shot location on the top of that cliff that you mentioned in West New York, NJ, but there is usually a lot of people walking/parking there too.

Look up Ruth's Chris is Weehawken. Exactly what you want. I think Chart House is nearby, but there is a big parking lot next to Ruth's Chris steakhouse.

Watch out for potholes! Seriously, you could very easily damage such a nice car in those areas. Also, make sure you know where you're going, you don't want to make a wrong turn in new 911 around there. Otherwise have fun!
