Default Roadtrip picture. New owner too.

Ok so I took this picture in Weekhawken, New Jersey, outside the Sheraton after canvassing advice on where to stop for a picture with a backdrop of the city. I was road tripping, in a day, from Boston to Cary, NC having just acquired this 997.

My damn GPS took me down the West Side highway on Manhattan; just what I wanted to avoid but once through the Lincoln tunnel I was back on track for trip down the "blue haired" highway I95. Good spot for a picture I thought. The roads are pretty dire in both Mass and NY, the Jersey Turnpike however - lovely.

My road trip started at 11 AM after a flight from RDU @ 7 AM Wednesday morning and I got home in 13 hours. Used 25 mpg and got no tix, but then surprisingly I kept myself in check. It's an '06 with 6600 miles on the clock, about 10% of those applied today.

I had thoughts of keeping my Boxster S but after 5 minutes in the 997 I think Autotrader may get a visit!

I joked with some friends today that I now have four girls, my daughters, Isabella, Sophia, Olivia and now, my newest, "Carrera".

Is that a light pole growing out of Carrera's back?

A great color!

No, that's the Porsche optional aerial antenna.

So I took my kids RC "Sally Carrera" out to the car and I'm guessing Sally is more Riviera Blue than Maritime. Another thing and I'm sure Dan has found this too, these colors are difficult to capture digitally. My car has a bit of lavender color in it and it's not coming through in the pictures at all.

You have to calibrate your computer monitor - the hint of lavender in the blue is coming through here - so much so, I would have wondered if it was odd lighting if you would not have confirmed it.

Very cool car.

Good that you found a spot to pull of that photo - nice job.

Congratulations, awesome find!

One day I hope to see your car cruising around the Triangle. Maybe at a Briarcreek Cars & Coffee?!

Enjoy!
