My Porsche Master Mechanic indy shop owner would look at you like you were a crazy person and tell you (in a Polish accent) to "go down ze street and rent a Ferrari for a day with all the money I am saving you!"

Always a loaner at Don Rosen just outside Philly. It's either a Porsche or an Audi. I'm surprised at the number of dealers who do not give out a loaner

most MA dealers have affiliated rental company booth and they give whatever is available there - avis, enterprise, etc. usually a hyunday or similar crap.

No Porsche loaners ever. A run of the mill rental POS.

same here but i do not care as dealer i use does not ask stupid questions of why i have melted rubber pieces on my CCW rims and why car has RA1 tires on her. they just do what they can do and so far i had nothing but positive experience with them so i shut up and drive what they give me.

my last visit to them was when my 2nd cylinder coil died on a track and they replaced it for free by CPO warranty. before that - did water pump, replaced amplifier, do not remember what else. i tried to pursuade them into clutch job so they would offset labor but it did not work out. no biggie.

my old dealer (Parktown Porsche in Kirkwood MO) not only sponsored the local PCA track days, when Gateway was still operational; they would do track day tech inspections for free

To me that was worth 100 cocktail receptions for new vehicle launches.

not generally, but they do have an on site rental car company. porsche picks up the tab on it, and they have some pretty decent cars like Merc C class, Jags, etc. Not a bad deal.

Cherry Hill Porsche give out panamera 4's. I would rate them as top notch in service. The 911 was purchased there.

Interestingly, the same company also owns the local mercedes dealership. They won't give out any loaner if the car was not purchased there. This really pissed off the wife as she tried to get her mercedes there but the one she wanted was discontinued and they could not get her one.

The Service Manager at Porsche of Greenville said I will get a Porsche loaner when I drop my car off to have the PSE installed next Tuesday. I'll report back after the install.

Personally, I think a lot of dealerships are short-sighted on that issue. Many times people would never have considered a particular car or model but after getting one as a loaner they are much more tempted to buy that car.

I recall years ago dropping off my 1968 Karmann Ghia for some tranny work and I got a nice Mercedes Benz as a loaner. I wound up buying that MB.

Here at Hennessy in Atlanta we have over 20 P-cars in our loaner fleet including Cayenne, Boxster, Cayman and Panamera.

Crappy Cramray that smelled like an ash tray from my Merc dealer. Almost always a P car from Porsche dealer. When the car was in for RMS in early 08 they gave me a Cayman slush box. Got a call on Friday AM from service rep. "I know you have autocross this weekend, we just got a Cayman S stick back in. Want it?" Did not take it as I took my C2S to the event. Another time I got a Cayman S stick and sales rep told me to beat the crap out of it, tell me what you think. Let your friends try it too. Got a ticket that time, but went to court and was let off.
Last year I got a Cayman S and was told that I could not take it to autocross. Times have changed.
