Default mObridge vs. Denison

I've decided to keep my '06 S coupe & not upgrade to a Cab (for now). The car is so awesome that I just can't part with it as of yet. It's time for a bluetooth/ipod unit & would appreciate some feedback on the mObridge/denison debate. Positives/negatives on both. Thanks!

Dension ipod is great, the BTA1500 bluetooth can be problematic, though, it's relatively inexpensive.
You can always put in a tooki if the BTA1500 is unsatisfactory.
Other people have used the Mobridge all in one sucessfully.
Talk to Eric!!

I've had the Mobridge, for about 10 mos, so far so good. No problems, good sound. The price was about the same when I purchased.

Hey
New user and new to Porsche. I searched many places with this same question before getting the Denison installed on my 08 C2S yesterday. I have a DICE unit in my MINI and it pretty much blows. MoBridge is evidently an offshoot of the DICE company. My dealer installed the Denison unit for me and they feel that they have had less issues with the Denison than the MoBridge. For what it is worth, 24 hours of experience, the Denison is easy to use with both the iPod and BT. Good luck

Had a MoBridge unit put in my '08 Cayenne GTS not long ago and I'm very happy with it. Ipod works well and bluetooth is excellent. It can store information on up to five phones and quickly sync with the one that is on in the car. Porsche dealer did the install.

Does anyone know if we get a Rennlist discount w' the mObridge unit? I'm pretty sure that Eric from Bumperplugs gives us a break on the denison. From the info I've gathered so far, it seems like there are bluetooth issues w' the denison & not w' the mObridge. Thanks for the info so far.

Check on the Cayenne board for MoBridge- they were doing group buys and received some discounts. My dealer simply matched the group buy price. Good Luck

Not correct. mObridge was developed in Australia and is related to FiberDyne Systems Pty Ltd, a MOST specialist. The first release of the mObridge unit was in conjunction with Porsche Australia back in early 2007. See http://www.mobridgeinc.com/company and http://www.mobridgeinc.com/node/103

Default mObridge vs. Dension

Hi.

1. mObridge is not by any means an offshoot of DICE. We engineer, design, build all of our own products. However, DICE is a good partner of ours and you may even find our products in their catalog. Sorry to hear about your MINI adapter. I'm sure your seller and/or DICE would be happy discuss this with you and help make it right.

2. We can highly assure you that the majority of users will experience far more issues with BT (BTA1500) in Dension than with a mObridge ABT2010 series product for Porsche. Let's start with spotty compatibility of 42 phones vs. well over 500 as with our world-famous Parrot OEM chipset. There is a reason why Porsche importers themselves fit the mObridge ABT2010 as official product in certain world markets. **IF** an installer in particular stated there were more issues with ABT2010 vs. Dension, there are only two possibilities:
1. On the "take" with Dension (er, long-term partner).
2. Incompetent installer.

Now, on the iPod side, most posts are correct, there is in fact a lot less differentiation between mObridge iPod vs. Dension GW500, besides the fact that we fully operate and support in this (N.A.) market.

Sorry this is quite an honest and blatant assessment but sometimes black & white truth is needed when these issues are raised.

In any case, we are now officially "here" (Rennlist) so feel free to reach out as necessary.

Hi PT,

There is in fact no such program at the moment, however do keep watch on the forums here as in fact another group buy is brewing, this one backed by a distributor and perhaps even better pricing. Just takes a lot to organize these things :-)

Signing off from the Netherlands (new Benelux outpost) ...

Scott
