Default 997.2 Tow Hook License Plate Holder

I almost got a ticket for not having a front license late last week. In checking with my dealer for front plate mount options he mentioned something about a Tow Hook license plate holder that just simply attaches to the tow hook.

Does anyone here have any info or link on it?

BTW, I did do a search and did not come up with anything specific.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I also got the moweraxle.com kit and was pleased with the quality. Its a bit expensive. There's a guy on 6speedonline who is selling a functionally similar kit using less expensive materials that still looked good. I don't remember his name, but another Rennlister may recall offhand if you can't find a thread there.

It's JCS. It is a nice frame with a machined aluminum shaft. Email him at stumberger_r@msn.com. It sells for $37.50 ( includes shipping in US and Canada).

An advantage the JCS plate has is that it is light. The competing plate has a nice but heavy aluminum plate that is really overkill.

Ditto +1 on Axis Motor Co. Got a warning ticket for no front plate, Portland Parking enforcement is now ticketing vehicles without front plate so if you have to go into town and park on the street expect to get one. Larry's mount took all of 3 minutes to install and can easily be removed with 7/8" open end. Ordered on a Sunday on line and got it on Thurday (Monday was a holiday). Well machined and now with two holes so the plate can be located closer to the center if desired.

Fortunately, no front license plates are required where I live. Nice to know, though, that there are aesthetically-pleasing options for my car if I ever decide to relocate to an area requiring these plates. Interestingly, I ran across the following product while searching for Porsche license plate frames some time ago.

See http://www.altecproducts.com/

No idea about its quality or durability. Just thought I’d share the information.

My issue is that it's offset to the right. It just LOOKS odd to me. I like things symmetrical.

First steep driveway or road hump and this mount is history if it's retracted! It will probably take a piece of the car with it!
