As another Canuck and in the market for a new Pcar soon, I'd be interested to know if the recall/history report works for you. Even if this is just the mandatory inspection (as required to import and register a vehicle in your jurisdiction) $1200 definitely looks like a grab/dig at you for not buying in Canada. I'd go with a CPO car - not only to cover the expensive "unexpecteds", but for better resale prospects (if you actually decide to sell it later with remainder of warranty of course). Good luck with the process- it will be worth it when you're finally driving it!

So I have purchased the car, and had them perform a CPO. Even though, as I suspected, everything passed, it's still worth the 3K for 2 extra years.

Congrats on the new ride! How about some pics when you get a chance?
BTW what province are you in? Did you get confirmation from P. Canada and/or dealer that the CPO is going to be supported? Also, I am curious to know if you avoid the expensive inspection and just get by with a more reasonably priced pre-registration inspection with the recall/history info. If you find the time to post, it would be informative.

Pics will come within 14 days. It's coming from Beverly Hills to Montreal.

I was told by PCNA and Lauzon Porsche that the CPO is fully transferable.

Unfortunately, I will have to do the inspection (from what I can figure) in order to get that warranty validated. RIV says only that the DRL's, metric displays (LCD/LED) and recall letter need to be confirmed in order to plate it. Lauzon and PCNA say I must do the inspection and visor 'labels' to get the recall letter.

These were taken as my baby arrived at the border, just before getting through customs. Another week and I should be driving her, so long as there's no snow (fingers crossed)

Check to see if your automatic cab will be covered. I was looking early on at the extended warrantee until i discovered the things like major parts in AC or the rag top were NOT covered. The extended warrantee is not the same as the 50/4 year deal

The coverage for the CPO warranty was restructured in August of last year. The CPO warranty for vehicles bought after this point is full coverage (or at least as much as the original warranty). But yes initially, the CPO warranty did not cover everything and there were quite a few parts that were not covered.

I would say the OP made a good choice in getting the car CPO'ed.

the CPO now covers everything the original warranty did in fact they market it as an extension of the exact original warranty and the only company who does that
