Default Used Pcar discount to MSRP - is EBay right?

Hope some of you can give your opinion on this one. I know most of you are likely not in the market...
I want to make the right offer on a 997.1 S or 4S so I'm looking on eBay under completed listings (recent sales) and wanted to ask if you all think eBay is right or off.

If you look at 2008 used 911s, ebay had 6 completed listings (mix of models) with sale prices on average at 65% of the original MSRP... so applying this 65% to a 97k MSRP '08 C2S would get you to a 63k "market" price today.... So my question is - does this seems right or too low?

The discount ranges seem to widen for '07 and '06 models. 2007 looks like 59% and 2006 looks like low 50s%... so applying this low 50s% to a 2006 92k MSRP C2S would get you to a 49k "market" price for this car.... does this seem right or too low?

Thanks for the help

I wouldn't base my pricing upon eBay at all. Many of those "completed" auctions never meet fruition. You simply have to talk to people, the forums, etc. to get a feel for what prices are. Keep in mind that these cars can vary considerably because of options. While one guy is raving about picking up a 997 for next to nothing, keep in mind that the car was probably lightly optioned. If you find a heavily optioned car you would be insulting the owner with a similar offer. It looks to me like you're looking for a formula that you can simply drop an MSRP into.

Probably low on the Newer cars and high on the Older cars due to the nature of the calculation.

Youre right I am not in the market but I did just buy a 09 C2S. Even though I am not in the market I do have an IQ thats way above Obamas and Algores. I would say youre in the ballpark. But Like Dan said dont use Ebay for data. They usually just are fishing for buyers and deals are done after the auction.
Get as much data as you can from autotrader Cars.com etc etc. on the model thats closest to your model.
Then once you get another ballpark then figure out what your budget is. The offer somewhere around I dont know 7% under the price you determined. Maybe 10% and work upward. Get an idea of what a "Steal" for you is and work UP from there. Dont get anywhere near your budget price until IF and when you get forced to by the guy that has the car YOU want. Right now with the sale prices of 09s you should be able to get a nice bargain on an 08.
