Default ride quality of SPORT PASM in Normal compared to PASM-Normal

How is Ride quality of SPORT PASM in Normal compared to PASM-Normal

I like the ride quality of 09-PASM in Normal but never had a chance to drive Sport PASM in normal , how is it on rough roads compared to PASM-normal

Do you guys recommend it for street use and no track days?

I have Sport PASM - it is a bit stiffer than the normal suspension. I find it acceptable and I like the lower stance and Limited Slip differential that comes with it. This is a 997 C4S PDK daily driver. Honestly, the only way you can decide is to ride or drive in a car with the sport suspension

The ride in Sport PASM is VERY rough on regular roads.

I'll kick it on every so often on a somewhat smooth surface,
however, if the road gets even a bit rough, I kick it off.

It functions as it is designed to do--tighten and corner.

I think you are referring to the Sport mode of the std PASM suspension. The OP was asking about Normal mode of the -20mm Sport PASM suspension.

I think he was asking a different question related to normal mode with sport PASM on a 997.2. But sport is stiff in either 08's or 09's.

I have sport pasm (lowered by 20mm). I dont find the ride that rough in normal mode. As an example, i have a 40th anni 996 and thats far stiffer, rougher than my 997.2 in normal mode. I think its compliant but try it for yourself. If you put it into sport mode - it definitely stiffens up a lot. I only use that in the twisties

I have a 997.2 with SPASM. The ride quality in normal is livable, firm but not jarring. In sport--make sure the road is smooth. My salesperson warned me I would not want to use that setting often and he is right.

I was on the fence when ordering my C4S coupe last fall -- especially since on that model it's a no cost option. Without a chance to try it, I decided against ordering SPASM. It just so happened that very soon after my order was finalized, a launch car came in giving me the opportunity to try. It was definitely firmer than normal PASM but not too bad overall. I thought it seemed more or less like normal PASM in Sport mode. Since I'm not a super aggressive driver, I think the normal PASM does suit me better -- but I did like the lowered look of the SPASM car. As others have mentioned, you really need to try it for yourself to be sure, but you really can't go wrong either way. Best of luck in making the decision.

I have SPASM and leave it on normal all the time except for on the track. Ride quality with OEM wheels / tires is fine, even better with 18s (ie: 18" Volks and RA1s on the way to the track). True test is my wife doesn't find SPASM too rough - we just got back from a weekend away and no complaints even with our terrible New England roads.

I have SPASM and I think the ride is perfect. No harshness at all in NORMAL mode. The -20MM ride height decreases drag at high speeds, lowers CG for flatter cornering and looks great. I remember paying a $1000+ to change over to the M030 springs in my 993TT to get the same ride height. Considering P-Car options prices, this one is a bargain especially when you include the LSD. The only little glitch is I do scrap the rubber flaps under the front bumper on some steep entrances/exits and at speed (50+MPH) over some bumps when the car goes to full compression.

Below is the rear spring rates chart for the different suspension. SPASM is not that much stiffer than the PASM and the rear springs are progressive giving you a better ride.

I have an 09 C2S with Sport PASM and find the ride in normal mode to be perfectly acceptable and not that much different from that of my previous 07 C2S with regular PASM (both cars with 19" wheels and Michelin PS2's of the same size for what it's worth). I like the lower ride height and handling of the 09 C2S with Sport PASM a lot.

Default spasm?

I am looking at a 08 c4s for my wife with pasm, but does this mean the car has spasm as well or is that yet another option on top of pasm? Jeepers, hard to keep track..... thanks
