Broken Door Handle Not Covered By CPO??

Good luck!! You definitely need trim removal tools. There are a few links on how to remove it. I recommend ordering spares of the door trim "pop rivets". Some are going to break.
Just be patient. They say 20 minutes, but it took about 40 to take it off. Just being very careful. If you get frustrated...walk away. Forcing will lead to bad things. But it beats the $250 that people were claiming.

This is why I love this place! Same thing just happened to me. Debating whether to try and fix it myself or let the dealer do it.
Apart from flopping around, the handle still works. Anyone know if I can count on it still working for a while or not? Don't want to end up a contortionist trying to crawl out through the passenger side with the gearshift stuck up my ***!

Just to clarify, I don't have CPO (factory warranty expired this past Feb and I do have a Fidelity Platinum policy but $250 deductible, which is about the repair cost, so not bothering to check it).

Same thing happened to me about a month ago and honestly don't have any plans to fix it at this point. It does "flop" or stick out about 1/2 inch more than it should but it works just fine. Windows roll up and down as they are supposed to when opening, etc. Honestly doesn't seem worth the hassle or the $. Just my $.02.

Did something similar last week on my 997... Pelican has some nice DIYs on this topic (no affiliation).

Agreed. PCNA shoots itself in the foot by refusing to fix these ticky-tack items under warranty. What I had to go through to get an outside temp indicator replaced was absurd and led to me not buying a Cayenne when my wife needed a new car. I figured that at least my Carrera is relatively trouble free; I couldn't imagine dealing with PCNA on a less reliable car. A $200 repair cost them a customer.

Me three....my interior pull stuck out 1/2". I just ignored it for a while and then it stuck out far enough that occassionally it wouldn't trigger the window to go up that 1/4" after you close the door.
Took it in and covered under CPO. No questions ask. I have a good relationship with my service writer and tip him generously. Service advisors don't make a ton of money and work long hours. I like to take care of mine, it's my way of paying it forward.
A few months ago he replaced one of those cheesey cup holders and mentiond it shouldn't be covered but he knew his way around the stupid PCNA CPO rules.

I will get the door handle fixed the next time I am in for service but won't rush.
I have never had a CPO, only original OEM warranties. I will say that having a good relationship with your dealer can be worth its weight in gold. I am very, very close to my dealer and management (some have become personal friends and the GM is now a neighbor as well, by chance). They have always found ways to make things happen for me that I am sure go beyond the norm.
