Default PORSCHE SPORT EXHAUST

I might be pulling the trigger on this and wanted some opinions. Since I am a PCA member, I am entitled to discounts on parts and labor from select dealerships. A 25% discount ends 11/30. I was going to buy an exhaust system, like a tubi, etc., but was also told that the Porsche one sounds great and their will be no warranty violations as opposed to somebody elses system. I can have the exhaust furnished and installed for $2,950. I spoke to my friend that owns a top customization shop (he dies did inside and out of Mariano Rivera's charger) and he said to go for this great deal. He is the one that told me the above warrenty and great sound info. What do you guys think?

I would certainly recommend the Porsche Soprt Exhaust.
The sound is very intoxicating and you can turn it
off via a dash switch if you choose.

FYI, according to my window sticker, the option charge from
Porsche in 2006 was $2,400.00.

Unbelievable sound! So far the best stock exhaust that Porsche has put out! I have it on my car and I can't stop smiling. In fact, even the stock '09 exhaust is louder than the norm. As a street driver, it's a good buy.

I wouldn't purchase a new 911 without the PSE.

There was a recent thread about PSE a waste of $$$. Might be worth looking at it. Personally, a $3k noise maker is not might cup of tea. But if money is no object...do it and enjoy the beautiful music.

I like the idea of being able to switch it on and off. This is a definite plus vs some of the aftermarket setups that are always "on". Helps avoid attention from the man and keeps the neighbors happy...

I think a Sharkwerks bypass is more economical better sounding and less weight.

What are the warrenty issues w/ an exhaust other than Porsche's? Keep in mind my car only has 1k on the clock and is only 2 months old.

One should not call it noise! To me, a tuned exhaust is sweet music.

You can turn it off, only if you have the sport chrono, correct? I do have the sport chrono.

No--you do not need Sport Chrono in order to turn it off.

The factory PSE comes with a switch (third one from the left-lower center)
which enables you to turn it on/off.

It's just like Captain's Choice on a boat--and it costs about the same.

It's very nice and worth every penny. (Of course I bought mine pre-owned
so I didn't have to write a $3k check to get it--but I would have).

Have you had to utilize your warrenty, prob not. From what I understand from a reputable source, is that if say something fails on the engine, lights come on, etc, that they could attribute it to the exhaust and install and deny warrenty paid repairs. What is the Sharkwerks comparable system worth? Porsche told me 6hrs of labor and that to actually buy the exhaust costs $2,350 w/ my discount.
