buying a 911 tomorrow
well... we shall see. Realistically speaking and given current conditions. What would a fair to good price be on a new 2009 C2S with MSRP of $100k?
I realize dealers need to make a profit but don't need to overpay either!
Thanks

Jimjoe; did you get the C4S with PDK or standard. I think I fall in the same category as most; would never have considered anything but a stick... until I tried the PDK. I'm still not 100% sold on the PDK, but it certainly got my attention!
The launch feature in PDK with a 4S must be even more "gripping" (pun intended!)

I don't mean to pry - but I'm just sayin' - when financing schemes are in play the stated "purchase price" may become relevant only to the extent that the number has the effect of putting a smile on the customer's face.

purrybonker, I "bought" the car with my own financing (not PCNA). It would have cost $10k more if I had used the Porsche 1.9% financing. I didn't trade anything, so this was a clean purchase, not confused by trade-in value (I couldn't part with my E46 M3... now I don't know what to do with it!).
CtrUSA, yes, this is a PDK car. Like you, I never would have thought I would like it. But when I test drove a sample, I was blown away. It's great, but it is different. You lose some things, but you gain some things. I am glad I have it - in some ways, I need it because I now have so many doo-dads to look at and fiddle with (bluetooth, nav, ipod, sat, tire pressures, etc) and the 911 is unfamiliar to me, so I am happy to have the computer shift for me. It's especially nice when accelerating hard, because there is so much power you don't spend much time in any one gear. I tend to leave it in sport mode most of the time, but I am not out of the break-in period yet so I don't know if I will do things differently once I can more fully explore the upper rpm range.

Thanks for all the responses.
One last question before I head out this PM. What kind of purchase price difference would be expected with a 2010 - $8k-$10k?
I'd rather get a good deal on a 2009, but the number of vehicles is more limited and the '11 starts rolling out in about 6mths, so there needs to be a sizable difference.

I got almost 15 % off for a '09 C4S a month ago. If it is a launch car you should try to get atleast 20% off. Have your finances in place shoot for a figure in mind and walk off if there are not willing to budge. Unless ofcourse you really like that particular car.

Assumptions were correct. I didn't buy it yesterday. I ran out of day so it will be monday. Still the deal is worked out and it is right at 17% off MSRP (on 2009). Can't justify the price of a 2010 on the lot vs ordering exactly what I want.
I'll report once I have the keys!

I'm thinking low $80Ks? I know the deals have changed since very few new 2009s are still around, but I got mine for $91K with a $111K MSRP about 2 months ago. I'm self-employed and leased it through Porsche Credit with a money factor around 4%. No regrets!
Oh --- Just saw your above post, and 17% off MSRP sounds like a great deal. Enjoy it!
