Would you care to elaborate on this? Did you recently have a bad experience driving a 911 in the snow?

My $0.02 on driving in the snow (my daily driver is a 2009 C4 Cab w/dedicated Continental winter tires). Getting the car going in snow/ice is no problem but turns, say into a parking lot, can be problematic (I'm used to it now and can drive safely with this in mind). I think that has a lot to do with how light the front of the car is and my inexperience driving a 911 in the snow. Clearance could also be an issue but that's not that big a deal for me - I'm not looking to plow through any snow banks.

That said, it is a huge change from how my 2007 Audi S4 cab handled in the snow. The ABS seems to work moderately well when things start to slip but I'm still probably going to leave the car in the garage during our next storm - but this is primarily due to not wanting it to get filthy or deal with people that just can't drive (lol).

All in all, I really don't have an issue with my car as a 4 season daily driver.

Well, I have 3 total turns on my commute. I think my C2S with PS2s did as well as expected today on the firmly packed snow - i.e., I got stuck on (and needed a push on) two of the three turns, and traction control was engaged for about .8mi of the 1.1mi commute. For those of you saying "porsches are great in the snow," are you guys talking about C4S with snow tires? ...because I got news for you, all 4wd cars with snow tires are great in the snow.

no other choice... my M3 with all-season tires was broken into last week, and the window is not yet fixed because the window repairers couldnt make it because of the snow

You should have put slicks instead of PS2s and then go driving into deep snow. It would be even funnier. And would give even better reason to claim that 911 car is bad on snow.

Are you just screwing around on a Monday morning, or are you a semi-pro tester for an alcohol manufacturer ?

when we don't have the tires or the talent, the choice that we do have, and probably should make, is not to drive at all...

Are you sure ?
I always thought the best thing to do when forced to drive in questionable situation was to drive really fast and get it over quickly.

You should smack yourself again.....and again, until driving on snow on stock tires seems like a bad idea.
