Default First 997 and LOVING IT!

After 18 years of Porsche ownership with primarily aircooled cars, I finally made the transition. I've visited Rennlist for years, and finally joined just a couple of months ago. This is my first post, so I apologize in advance if I screw something up here. I figured now was a good time to introduce the newest addition to the family.

I just took ownership of this 2006 Carrera S Monday, Feb. 15th. I bought her from Stahl Motorsports in West Palm Beach, FL, and I drove this baby 600 miles back to Charlotte, NC. What a blast! (As a side note, Danny Stahl couldn't have been better to deal with. The man is true to his word, and I was pleasantly surprised when I showed up to find this under described gem waiting for me.)

Factory options include the Aerokit, short shift, sport chrono plus, and a few other not so rare options. Slight modifications include painted wheels, clear bra, painted emblem, red taillights, and Tubi exhaust. The suspension is stock (for the moment). I just bought a set of red seat belts for the car that should set the interior off nicely, and the clear side markers are on their way.

She has 13K miles, and she looks, drives and smells just like a brand new one.

For those who are "considering" making the move from 993 to 997, STOP pondering. IMHO, there's absolutely no comparison, and I can't believe I waited this long to commit to a 997S. Now I see what all the fuss is about.

Pic's taken in FL before I picked her up:

Congrats aircooled! SY/sand is quite a rare combo, so let's see some pics of the interior.

Slowly converting 993 knuckleheads one 997 at a time.

aircooled, thanks for the encouragement. I am expecting payment on my 993 today. If received, I am negotiating on a 997 C2S and I am nervous as hell about the switch. Although I did have the pleasure of driving my first 997 over the weekend, and wow. Great looking car! Enjoy.

As an old aircooled driver for decades, I, too, made the transition but back in 2006. Time for you to catch up. It looks like a stunner.

Welcome, and nice looking car. Just curious why you didn't go for yellow belts instead of red.

Same! I'd definitely re-consider that, get the Yellow ones if you wanna stand out.

PS. Just realized you got Beige interior... I am not sure if I've even seen red/yellow seatbelts with that interior. Try to put it on before install to see how it looks like, could be a strange color combo!
