Default My 997 on track

I went to NJMP last weekend and had a great time!

Frankly, my stock 997 C2S runs well on track but I want more.
So I am picking up Bilstein Damptronics on 28th to be ready for next track day!
I can't wait to see the difference.

if track is what you want a new suspension for and plan on doing more tracking in the future... just get yourself a pair of Moton clubsports (non external canister) or JRZ RS.

Trust me light years better than bilsteins on the track

or buy a set of revalaved bilsteins from TPC racing (they re-valve and spring them for better track performance).

Ask me how I know

just got same ones. yep, they are THE "lightest/cheapest" on market (yes there are "lighter" and sure there are "cheaper", but not both in the same package!) i actually use them for street and stock lobsters for track. agreed - great looking wheels.

This just goes to show what Porsche has been doing from day one. This is the Best car ever created for every thing. Drive it to the track, blow everyones doors off, then drive it home stopping at In N Out for dinner. 911 THE standard

I can hardly wait to get my C2S PDK to the track and see the faces as I go by the 996 GT3s and 993s and 996 TTs.

Thanks for all comments!
I see lots of good comments on the TPC'd bilstein.
So basically what is the major difference between original damptronics and TPC'd damptronics?
Spring rates? What else?

The front spring rates are completely different and the programming for the adjustable dampening is manipulated...

Default Best Wheel size for Track / Street 19" or 18" on 2008 C2S?

I have heard that the car handles much better with 18" wheels then 19" on the track etc.

Is this correct? Can anyone recommend some good wheels for summer use?

Something conservative nothing chrome or too flashy.

Or if you hear of someone that wants to sell their old wheels please let me know.

Cheers

I run these wheels on my RS and I've been really happy with them. It's amazing how much lighter the 18" OZ with R6s are compared to the factory 19" wheels and tires. I can definitely feel it when I swap back to my street wheels for the drive home.

Great pics! You've got me yearning to get back out on track.
